What Parents Say
Astor Early Childhood Program receives mixed reviews. Most parents praise the staff as patient, dedicated, and helpful with child development and kindergarten preparation. However, some parents report significant concerns about COVID-related closures, medication management, communication issues, and inadequate special needs support.
Astor is very welcoming and helpful in getting your child ready for kindergarten. There staff is caring and very understanding. There advocates go above and beyond expectations. My experience has been mostly great with three of my children that went or are going here.
I switched my child to astor in January of this year. She attended abilities first and when covid hit, they decreased in person from five full days to two. My child didn't do well with remote and she regressed. We had a meeting with the school district and changed to astor bc they were open 4 days. Well, the amount of times Astor has closed for covid, from the nurse not knowing which medication is a controlled substance to poor communication with the bus company and parents I could not in good conscience recommend this school to anyone.
When it comes to getting your child support and services. If I could give zero stars I would. This place provides the bare minimum to help your child. Lauren M the coordinator for EI services is rude, she does not have an ounce of compassion when it comes to dealing with children with special needs. I would never recommend anyone bring their kids here. Horrible experience.
My son had a speech delay but he made a great progress after he attended Astor they really helpful kind and professional
The teachers and staff here are very patient and dedicated. I would recommend this program to everyone.
