Very run down, minimal equipment. Staff and other people were friendly but it's just not a good gym. No WiFi. Whole place smells aggressively of mold.
Went to water fitness class tonight..highly recommend! Staff at the Y was friendly and informative of all they offer. Wish some more classes were offered after 5 for working class folks.
I would give zero stars if I could. Pool is slimy, my kids were dripping brown stuff off their bathing suits as they came out, hot as all hell inside to the point you can’t breath, and kids who just do not listen to the life guard. One life guard was trying to get the kids to calm down and the other just sat and watched his co-worker. How sad not to have his back to get these kids to stop so the pool is safe for families. Learn to kick people out who act this way and help your life guard! Clean your pool as well while your at it! 22 bucks wasted. Spent maybe 10 mins before I said we were leaving and screw the money.. it was that awful. Save your money and drive to Manhattan for their outdoor pools! Cheaper, better life guards, rules, and super clean pools!
The new hot tub is primo!
An older YMCA but clean and the weight area has modern machines that are keep in good operating condition. The weight area is a little congested, however (more space between machines would alleviate the crowd when it’s busy). Also, little neighborhood kids are running around unsupervised. I’m a visitor from another state, but if I was local, I would probably join (rates are low). There is a pool that is well-kept, and basketball and racquetball courts. I’ve been to very large, new YMCA’s is the main reason I’m not giving it a ‘5’ (a 4.3-4.5 is about where it should be).
