Appleville Academy

My review is based off of a “tour”, which Appleville made a horrible first impression. I planned this “tour” with Ms. Sky and thought it was going to be great based upon our conversation over the phone - BOY WAS I WRONG!! My husband and I were running a little behind for the tour, but I called Ms. Sky to apologize for our tardiness and make sure she knew we were about 5 minutes away from the center. She said “okay” as if she was ready to rock & roll whenever we arrived. Well when we got there, the door was locked and we were standing outside a bit confused since I HAD JUST hung up the phone telling them we were on our way. After waiting a few minutes, a lady comes to the door, opens it, and begins to turn on the tv in the foyer area when you walk in. THIS LADY DOESN'T EVEN ADDRESS US NOR DOES SHE INTRODUCE HERSELF. 😒 So I asked the lady her name and position, she answers and then states that Ms. Sky went to the bathroom so she’ll be giving the “tour”. When the tv monitor comes on, she proceeds by talking and confirming that watching the tv screen will be the “tour”. Apparently, prospective parents aren’t allowed to tour facility and “tour” is given by someone talking and looking at cameras on a tv. A HUGE WASTE OF OUR TIME!! How does a daycare center expect to obtain students when prospective parents aren’t even shown the facility/amenities? It’s a HUGE NO for me. And let me add that Ms. Sky NEVER arrived for said “tour”, which leads me to believe that she wasn’t interested in actually providing a tour in the first place. They ought to be ashamed of themselves. They lack professionalism. THAT “TOUR” NEEDS TO BE AN EMAIL!! HUGE RED FLAG!! 🚩

Appleville Academy is one of the best daycares around. My kids love it, it’s very diverse, and in a very reasonable location. They always throw events for the kids, like birthdays, holidays celebrations etc. They have been consistent and very helpful through the pandemic. They always make sure they are checking the kids temperature and keeping it safe clean for the workers. My kids come home all the time with cool looking projects they have done in class. It’s a good feeling knowing that they are always helping the kids become more knowledgeable each and everyday. Appleville is a great and safe place for kids.

My son has attended this school for about 6 months. I have been more than pleased with the staff and the interest/hard work put fourth in the care and development of all of the children in their center. We had removed him from his previous daycare as they didn't interact with the children and he just wasn't progressing. However, since starting at this facility, he has developed in all areas. I enjoy being able to walk in at anytime and find all of the classes in engaging activities. You often find artwork and other activities posted on the walls that they have worked on. I am able to speak to any of the staff members and receive an update on my childs progress and they even offer suggestions on things that we can do to help at home. This goes to prove the attention that is paid towards the kids in their care. Having spoken to most of the daycares in the area, this is the only one I'd recommend to anyone.

At first I was in love with this place when my son attended a little less than a year ago. I never got a daily update on how his day was going. When I questioned if he was warming up all they did was show me a phone video of him almost an hour after drop off with him not crying. When I questioned why I wasn’t understanding how he wasn’t better they acted like it was normal. My son never warmed up the 3 almost 4 months he attended and had only one particular teacher he’d ever reach for. Now my son attends somewhere new. We have no tears at a week in. Something was obviously going on.

What an amazing experience my son and I have had with Appleville!!! Not only do they have the best staff but they are also all genuinely good people who care deeply for all the children under their charge. I can't imagine my son having a better start. Thank you all. You deserve 10 stars!
