Appletree Day Care II

Grateful for the childcare, but I am really skeptical. My child has came home several times since she started with complaints of mistreatment from other children. I feel other children were allowed to bully my grandchild. Each time I bring it up, I was always advised that certain child was not there on that day. This went on for a while and I finally asked to see the video tapes. I was told the tapes could only be viewed with the owner. I was able to set up an appointment with the owner about 3 months ago and I missed the appointment. I apologize and tried to reschedule but the own went ghost with no response to email or text. I had to continuously ask the Director to reach out to the Owner for another appointment. The Director told me that the Owner was going to have her handle the situation anyway so no need to reach out. It seems the Directors are handling everything while the Owner is usually not around or does not know what goes on in the center. I feel like I was ignored after I missed the first appointment to buy more time from me watching the videos. Even if I missed the first appointment it should not take 3- 4 months for a response. She finally called me today and advised the videos only go back 2 weeks to 30 days. She wanted to know right away which dates I wanted to review, so they can possibly go back and watch the videos and if they find anything, they can say they don't have a video. Any concerns are not reaching the date and his being bounced back and forth from the Owner and the Directors in all of the centers. Each time I bring up a concern, I'm always told to find a another daycare center. It's not easy to just find another daycare due to wait list etc so it's easier for me to make sure my child is being treated the correct way while she is at her current daycare. The last thing you should tell a Parent with a concern is to find another daycare. The response should be we will make sure your child is treated with respect and taken care of while here. Such a high turnover. The bad seeds are the people that have been there for years. It's always a high turnover for the teachers. Instead of addressing and correcting problems. They advise to you find another daycare.

Initially I made a review stating how bad this daycare was based off of multiple bad experiences with the director. After reading the review is when she addressed the issue only because her boss brought it to her attention. I redacting part of my review and giving the center 2 stars only because my sons teacher Nicola, realized I work with my son at home to teach him so he knows a bit more than his classmates so she occasionally brings him home with homework which I greatly appreciate. If you are considering this center I’d highly reccomend a tour and ask as many questions as possible as well as looking at other options.

Our child has been with Appletree for four years and at Appletree #2 for over a year. He has learned so much from Ms. Roshonda and he loves going to school every day! The director, Ms. Angie, is friendly and professional and creates a fun atmosphere for everyone. We tell all our friends about Appletree and the great experience we've had.

While the atmosphere here is very nice, the facility is a poorly converted old house. It is also worth noting that there have been multiple complaints logged against the place over the years and that the people who gave us our tour were not forth coming about that when we visited. I would not recommend.
