What Parents Say
Guidepost Montessori Spruce Tree receives highly polarized reviews. Most parents praise the Montessori approach, teacher dedication, and director leadership, reporting strong child development and smooth transitions. However, some parents report poor communication, lack of accountability, policy inconsistency, and unresolved deposit refunds.
Really great group. We area two physician family and have high expectations. We toured a lot of facilities and have been happy with this group for nearly a year now. Our child learns a lot from the teachers and the communication is excellent. As for the other reviews, people tend to come online when upset and I’m sure in reality many parents here are happy since many of them have been at this place for years. They just don’t post or can’t be bothered since the are happy with this group.
Guidepost Montessori at Spruce Tree is wonderful and always has been; I’m a good barometer-we’ve been going for over 2 and a half years with 2 kids and my standards….are borderline impossible. These guys care. You can tell the staff and teachers are in it for the kids; they actually enjoy children. Every classroom is intentionally designed to optimize the kids learning experience and the teachers….i don’t know…they’re like out of a Disney movie with how attentive and caring they are. As far as childcare goes, this is your kids Shangri-La. Any parents I’ve had the pleasure of meeting with a kid here have no complaints as far as their children’s care. Our kids are more polite, earnest, thoughtful, and foundationally minded when it comes to learning tasks. They don’t just teach your kid how to do it, but how to learn. Forever grateful.
I had to update my review because the ONLY reason it was positive originally was because a parent left a negative review before me and they begged me to leave a positive one. I don’t post negative reviews lightly, but other families deserve to know what we experienced at Guidepost. As a first-time parent, I expected professionalism, clear communication, and a true partnership. What I encountered was the opposite: Communication & responsiveness: Messages often went unanswered or were addressed only after multiple follow-ups. When I finally spoke with leadership, I was interrupted and felt my concerns were minimized rather than heard. Accountability & follow-through: Apologies and ownership only came after I explicitly asked for them. I never received a clear action plan, timeline, or point of contact to resolve issues—just vague assurances that didn’t materialize. Inconsistency & transparency: Policies and explanations shifted from one conversation to the next, which eroded trust. Expectations weren’t set up front, and updates were reactive instead of proactive. Parent partnership: Instead of treating feedback as collaboration, I felt it was treated as an inconvenience. I was even encouraged to leave a positive review at one point because another parent gave a negative review. Everything you hear about this childcare center is true. After repeated attempts to work things out, we chose to unenroll our child. I genuinely believe that when a school thrives, kids thrive—but that requires consistent communication, real accountability, and respect for parents’ voices. Based on our experience, I can’t recommend this daycare. I hope they take this feedback seriously and make changes for the sake of other families.
This is not a serious business. They closed the unit my son was enrolled in about a year ago and never refunded the deposits for several families, including mine. Very frustrating.
The teachers are very kind, and we love Ms. Taylor!
