What Parents Say

Angleton Early Learning Center (Happy Faces) receives mostly 5-star reviews praising staff friendliness, communication with parents, child development support, and security measures. However, two 1-star reviews cite concerns about staff insensitivity to struggling children, inability to distinguish between twin siblings after two months, potential staffing ratio issues during summer combined classrooms, lack of learning documentation, and security lapses.

Happy Faces: A Day Care That Lives Up to Its Name My son, who is 5 years old, has been attending Happy Faces for a year now. He participates as an after-school rider during the school year and goes there throughout the week during the summer. Recently, an incident occurred over the summer that our son brought to our attention. Once we raised the issue with the daycare, they addressed it promptly and with great professionalism. The safety and happiness of the children is clearly one of their top priorities.

I have fraternal four-year-old boys that attended this facility for over two months. Every morning on the way to the daycare, they begged me not to take them there. They cried and tried to chase me out of the room when I would drop them off and the teachers were annoyed and not sympathetic with them at all. The last week they attended this facility, one of my boys had an accident on the playground and I received a call from the lead teacher letting me know what happened. The teacher could not tell me which twins had gotten hurt. When she finally figured out what twin it was, she called him by the wrong name completely, not just his brother's name. After two months you would think that the person that is watching your kids would know who they were. It's worth noting that my boys are twins, but they don't look alike. During the summer, they combine the 3 and 4-year-old classrooms. I noticed on several occasions while picking up my boys they had 18 kids in the class with one teacher, and it was complete chaos. When I questioned what the ratio was, I was told 18 kids to 1 teacher. When I looked it up, the minimum standards for 3-year-olds is 15 and 4-year-old is 18. I don't know what the minimum standard is if you combine them, but I thought this amount per person was worth mentioning, especially since it was so chaotic. In the two months there, they didn't come home one time with a piece of paper showing what they were learning or at least some kind of artwork. To be called an "Early Learning Center" I would think they would have some kind of paperwork or art. The last week that they were there the door was broken on several occasions letting anyone walk in. They rarely have someone sitting at the front door so it was a safety concern for me. I took my kids out of this facility as soon as I could find somewhere with availability.

Love this day care, my son has been going here since he was 6 weeks old. As a first time mom they have given me tips and advice. Also helped with crib training and helping him reach each milestone. Also they send me pictures of him doing activities and smiling. His teacher also communicates with me about needing diapers, whipes, clothes ETC. also let’s me know if I need to up his size in everything. Also they have cameras. Very satisfied with their staff, I trust them 100% with my child. My child is well taken care of.

We absolutely love and trust Happy Faces! My child has been in their care a little under 3 years and I know that she is well taken care of when I drop her off. The staff is super friendly and attentive, you are acknowledged as soon as you walk in that front door even if you have a code to be in there (parents/guardians). Knowing all the security features this daycare has in place to keep our children safe keeps my heart at peace. My child has learned so much while attending this daycare. I can truly say we are proud to be part of the Happy Faces ELC family!
