Some of the fondest memories of my family's time in Western North Carolina came in walking my daughter in and out of Alice's Playground Center each weekday (Aug. 2017-Nov. 2019). Most days, she beamed with excitement to spend time with Miss Alice and Miss Jeanette as well as any number of her teachers and classmates — and she would be bummed to have to say goodbye to them. She loved it there. We watched as she grew from the infant classroom right up to the 2-3-year-old group. Miss Alice and staff always were professional, friendly and caring of each family that walked through the door. Would highly recommend to any parent.

I was happy to get two spots at Alice's Playground for my two grandchildren. My 3 year old grandson always ran inside to see his teacher. They were great with both of my grandchildren. Professional and caring in an educational environment. Highly recommended.

I will try to be as nice as I can be about this incompetent daycare, but I feel it is my duty as a parent and grandparent to give you important info needed to make the best choice about who you’ll be leaving your children with for the day. At first my granddaughter was not happy when being left there. Later, she had a new teacher that she seemed to enjoy and we were happy with. On Fridays I go in a different door to pay for daycare and come out near my granddaughter’s classroom when I pick her up. On Friday, September 6, 2019, I came out of the daycare with my granddaughter and there was one of her female classmates (D) outside wondering around without supervision. My granddaughter is 18mo, and this was one of her classmates, so you have your age range. I went back inside to inform the teacher there was a child outside. I pondered the ordeal all weekend, on the heels of the child in Florida dying due to daycare neglect. Monday when I dropped off my granddaughter, I spoke with the teacher for some reassurance about the incident. She had gone to her supervisors and reported on Friday as she should. Made me feel a little better. That afternoon when picking up my granddaughter I walk in the door, and the child (D) that was left outside on Friday is now outside of her classroom and my granddaughter and another child are standing at the classroom gate as well. Now, it’s up to my daughter to deal with this. She talks with the owner and gets reassurances that all will be handled and gate locks will be replaced. Today is Monday, September the 16th and the locks have not been updated. Child safety should be a PRIORITY!!! We have pulled my granddaughter out of this facility. I have since spoken with parents about the horrors they’ve had with this place, but that is their story to tell.

My son loves it here! He is a 3yr old that is a very hyper and needs a teacher that is very patient. I feel we have found that with Mrs. Jeanette. We can go to work every day and know that our child is being properly cared for in a safe environment!
