Our family was in Alexandria, MN for a brief (and very rainy) 2 day camping trip. We were elated to have found the Alexandria Area YMCA to spend our day! Highlights: -Guest Pass: For a mere $20, we were able to get a 1-day family guest pass for our family of 5! Including access to the pool, gym, locker rooms, walking and jogging track, workout equipment, etc. Also, we could come and go throughout the day at not extra charge. -Facility: Premium, clean and well-cared for facility that just celebrated its 15th anniversary. -Acquatic Center: A spacious zero entry pool, basketball hoops, water slide, and a connecting lap pool. Hot tub for adults only. Lifeguard on duty. -Family Locker Rooms: Numerous separate family locker rooms that included warm showers, a toilet and a sink in each. Additional gender specific locker rooms also available. Blow dryers in the women’s locker room. -Staff: Very friendly and helpful staff. Tip: -Check online for the ymca hours, pool schedule and the open gym schedule. Note that the water slide isn’t always operating. Overall, we had a great time and we are looking forward to returning to this premium YMCA next year during the MN State Trap Shooting Tournament! Thanks for helping us make the most of a rainy day!
This program was well organized and had lots of fun things for my child to do. She loved going and can't wait until the next day camp experience.
Friendly place to be. Quite busy in am & pm. Clean facility! Dropped off grandbabe for his day. He AbsolutelyPositively LOVES being there. Never a fuss to be dropped off and always HAPPY when being picked up. Happy people arriving & departing from their workouts & workdays.
All I can say is Wow! Our kids had a blast. There were planned activities both inside and outside. Our kids were all smiles when we picked them up and asked when they get to go back! Thank you for a great experience!!
So we come down for vacation once a year for a week. This year instead of aimlessly running miles outside, I used the opportunity to hit up the Alex YMCA. As an instructor in the twin cities networks for 12 years teaching a few formats, I can say without a doubt this YMCA is amazingly maintained and cared for. Employees constantly sanitizing, engaging and interacting with members. You can even tell who the regulars were since the front desk was usually call them by name as they walked in. By the end of the week, even one of the employees working suggested that I should let your team know when I return and work out a chance to potentially co-teach a Bodypump class since it could be a fun experience for the Alex branch members. Again, amazing staff, amazing building and an amazing experience! Thanks for your hospitality! See you soon!
