We’ve had such a wonderful experience with Alaya. Our daughter has grown so much in confidence and social skills since starting here. She’s made sweet, kind friends, and we love how much time the kids spend playing outside and being active. The community feels warm, nurturing, and joyful—exactly what we were hoping for. Alaya is a truly special place that supports kids in becoming their best selves, and it absolutely deserves to be protected and preserved for future families. Help Fund Alaya!

My son attended Alaya Preschool for two wonderful years, and I couldn’t be more grateful for the experience he had. From the moment we joined the Alaya community, it was clear that this was a place full of warmth, care, and genuine love for children. His teachers were incredibly nurturing and truly devoted to his growth, focusing on his emotional and social well being. Over time, I watched him blossom into a confident, independent child who learned to advocate for himself and form meaningful friendships. The school’s nurturing environment made all the difference. It’s a place where children are truly seen, supported, and celebrated. Alaya gave my son a strong, beautiful foundation, and I’m so thankful we chose this preschool.

Our family cannot recommend Alaya Preschool enough for those seeking a safe, nurturing, and enriching environment to begin their child’s school journey. When exploring preschool options in the area, we placed a high value on outdoor time—but felt that a fully outdoor school wasn’t the right fit for our family. One of the things that truly sets Alaya apart is its expansive, shaded play yards—each thoughtfully designed for different age groups. The classes spend as much time as possible outside, which we deeply appreciate. We also love that Alaya meets each child where they are. The teaching approach is organic and balanced, drawing inspiration from Waldorf, Montessori, and Buddhist philosophies. The school offers just the right mix of structure and flexibility, creating a grounded and supportive environment not just for the children, but for parents and families as well. Boulder is fortunate to have many wonderful preschool options, but Alaya stands out as an extraordinarily magical place. The teachers and staff are truly exceptional—they’ve become a cherished extension of our family nest and caregiving circle.

My daughter Lexi went to Alaya for 4 years and now her little brother is there. it has been absolutely amazing. Our daughter learned so much, and developed really wonderful social skills. The teachers and leadership are so compassionate, caring, kind, engaged and present. The community is a treasure. One of our favorite things about Alaya is that the buildings are surrounded by nature on all sides and the classes often spend a lot of time outdoors. The school communicates regularly and clearly with us as parents. We are immensely grateful for everything that Alaya has contributed to our lives.

Alaya is an absolute gem; both of my children have gone there. This school has been the greatest gift not only to my children, but to myself and my husband. Alaya takes care of children and parents; it is an incredibly special community that helps families raise their kids. The school empowers teachers to share their passions with the children, and the teachers transition with the kids each year. Teachers form true genuine relationships with the children and their families. The children at Alaya get to play outside often, go on field trips, move, and learn collaboratively. Alaya teaches children to work together and learn from one another, and to have confidence in themselves as learners and humans in the world. My family has so much love and gratitude for Alaya.
