I'm so grateful for our time at Afton. The teachers are enormously supportive of the kids' emotional development and identities. The teachers are attentive, engaged, and affirming. The teachers are open to feedback and are thoughtful about news ways to promote children's growth and learning. Our whole family has felt nurtured and supported by the teachers and the community of families. The school attracts a lovely group of families who are kind and relaxed. Because the school is small, you can really to get to know other families if you want. I'm so grateful our child got to spend her preschool years at Afton!
We've had a really great time at this school. One of the biggest draws is the teachers: They're creative and engaged, they have a good rapport with the kids, and they're attentive to the kids' interests, needs, and emotional development. There is definitely a community focus here--your kid will socialize a lot, and you might, too. It's common for parents to send out all-class invites to birthday parties through the school. (Expect to go to several kids' birthday parties per year, if you're so inclined!) There is also LOTS of outdoor time every day, including lunch time. The main downside for our family is the minimum age limit (2 years). But that limit means that all the kids are mobile and can interact, at least to some extent.
Afton is a wonderful school. My daughter loves it and can't wait to go back. Ms. Lori and her staff are warm, caring, and professional. The classrooms are beautifully designed and the walking trails gorgeous. My daughter has made new friends and learned so much every day she has been there. She loves it there and if my kid is happy then I am happy!
so my son was a student in this school and they can't tell me face to face that my son can't keep going there cause they feel my son is too dangerous to be around other kids but they Email me Saturday morning telling me that they going to Mail me my son stuff thru the Mail This is not a place to put Your Child be Aware I will be placing a complain with the Orange County and BBB about this cause I feel that my son was discriminated against one time my son got sick and they came to tell my wife a week after he got sick if you can't handle a 4 year old you should not be in day care business find another business to get into
