What Parents Say
Parents consistently praise this Blue Ridge recreation facility for its well-maintained grounds, spacious layout, and diverse amenities including indoor/outdoor tracks, sports courts, and fields. Staff are described as friendly and the facility is noted as having excellent parking and reasonable pricing. However, some safety and management concerns have been raised regarding unsupervised children on tracks and lack of enforcement of safety rules.
Beautiful county park in a beautiful setting. Baseball ⚾️, soccer ⚽️, softball, and a nice walking/running track around perimeter. Exceptionally well maintained.
Grounds are clean and spacious. The staff are friendly and helpful when not busy. They have a nice walking path indoors around the basketball court and outdoors by the baseball fields. They do pickle ball in the mornings and have a lot of serious players. They also have an outdoor basketball and pickleball/tennis court next to the building. The playgrounds have nice equipment but someone has graffitied on several parts of them. Overall a pleasant experience
Great place, but no management to oversee the little wild children unaccompanied by their parent running the wrong direction on inside track. And when there is a kid sign up and they have to wait in line, kids and parents totally block the track making it difficult to find a place to go through. Very inconsiderate. Outside track kids ride their bike or scooter and they come up to you and you don't know it until they are practically on top of you. A little dangerous. No one reads the sign that a BELL is required on bike or scooter for safety reasons.
Beautiful facility that we have been visiting for years during volleyball season. They have space for four courts, plenty of parking, a concession stand, and a gorgeous view outside. I wish they would add a few big signs to make it easier to navigate the last mile that pointed and stated where the volleyball facility is after you turn off Tom Boyd. That would make it a lot easier for first time or even returning visitors when you haven’t been there in a year.
Beautiful, well kept park with fishing pond, recreation building with courts and indoor walking trail. Soccer, football, baseball fields. Rental bikes now available for outdoor paved walking trail. Plenty of free parking (there typically is a charge for entry to sporting events).
