My daughter attending this daycare when she was 9 months old. She came home with a fever 3 weeks in a row. She ended up in Children's ER after 3 rounds of antibiotics with a fever of 103.8. She was admitted and a battery of tests were ordered. After 2 days they finally identified the strep-pneumo in her blood culture. Infectious disease specialist had to be called in and I had a dozen doctors in our room questioning us trying to figure out how she got this rare bacteria. None of the family was sick. They concluded it was from the daycare and filed a report with the CDC. Had we not treated her when we did she could have died from meningitis in days. Needless to say she never returned to Adventures. It took a month for her to be back on track developmentally but she is a normal thriving miracle now.
By far the rudest owner I have ever met. She sits outside in her car after hours and screams at people if they park at the post office not even at her location. I could not even imagine what she is doing or saying to the kids behind closed doors. Highly do not recommend putting your child in her hands
I really debated leaving a review but I wanted people to be aware of the shady experience I had with this center. Issues? Let me count the ways. We had a series of small issues we dealt with a number of times, things I would have thought were common sense procedures however, our biggest issues are noted below: My daughter has been breastfed since day one starting there and a month after being there she was "accidentally fed formula" for a feeding which I was told was the likely conclusion after the assistant director followed up with the teacher who was in the room during that particular feeding. I understand accidents happen and I certainly do not have a problem with formula but what I did find out months later is that it was from a dirty bottle in the sink. Since I found this out months later, it obviously wasn't something I could bring up to management and obviously wasn't something they would have willingly disclosed to me when it was discovered by the staff. And at the end of the day, I can't 100% tell you if my daughter was fed formula or someone else's milk because like I said, the assistant manager didn't think it was at all concerning, just that she was fed. Then my daughter fell at daycare--I was told she was playing with a toy and fell and hit her head on the toy. I get it, accidents happen. I only came to know the full story because another parent witnessed the incident and called CPS. Once CPS viewed the video they followed up with me and told me what really happened. Again, I understand accidents happen, however, what actually happened is she was being held by an older child in the room, fell off her lap and hit her head on the floor. There were no toys around her and I was lied to about what happened. When I asked the director why we were lied to she said "the teacher likely panicked." If you ask me, because the teacher did not witness the incident herself, I don't believe she felt she could be honest with the director that she didn't know what happened and that the director would suggest they could view the video and provide an accurate account of the incident. I truly do not believe the staff is supported enough by management and unfortunately, they are thrown under the bus a lot when something goes wrong as was indicated to me when I discussed the issues with this incident. For the price point of this center (compared to other centers) I suppose you have to lower your expectations and unfortunately we had to go through bad experience after bad experience before looking elsewhere. If all you care about is that your kid is alive at the end of the day then this center is for you. If you have any specific requirements you expect to be met for your child while in their care, then please look elsewhere and save yourself the headaches of the runaround you will get if you address anything with them.
Adventures has been very good to us. They’ve worked with our crazy work schedule and also made it easy for us to drop off and pick up our child. When we first started going the teachers taught him the alphabet and also some Spanish. They work hard with children to help get them ready for school. I don’t think we could have made it through everything so easy with out adventures.
Im sorry to put this out there like this but if there was an issue with CDC like the woman in the last review the center would have been closed and there would some information about it out there. I have checked the cdc website, the licensing board and everywhere else that talks about that. Im sorry your daughter got sick but if you can show me information where the cdc got involved id love tl read about it. As of now im giving them 5 stars until i get proven otherwise. My child does not go here but i have been looking into taking him there and just want my facts straight. Thanks
