I feel it’s important to share my experience for parents considering this daycare. Although I saw prior reviews about the director, I chose to give it a chance. The teachers and her husband were kind and professional but the director was consistently dismissive and unprofessional. Issues included teachers being changed without communication to parents. The supply fee increased from $40 to $50 without notice or an updated handbook (I’ve never encountered a yearly supply fee elsewhere). Rules being enforced that were not in the parent handbook. Also unnecessary policy’s such as children cant return after 9:30am, even with a doctor’s note, and a very strict potty training policy ( send kids home if they have couple accidents within same week. Parents of children with allergies should proceed with caution. When my child contracted RSV and the flu from the center (within the same month) there was no acknowledgment or compassion from director, even a simple “I hope he feels better” would have been appreciated. Also the positive reviews are from director repeatedly requesting from parents.

My daughter is 7 months old, and she started at the age of 3 months. At first, I was very nervous with her being so young but we had no choice as we still have to work. The process of her transitioning from being away from home to Shining Star #2 was a smooth transition. The pictures, videos, and reminders that are sent more helpful than you could imagine especially when you’re a parent who likes to be notified periodically just to check on your little one. I know that when I leave my infant at the establishment, I will pick her up the same way I dropped her off (well taken care of). I appreciate everyone that has played apart in assisting with her, it’s truly appreciated.

My two year old son started at Shining Star #2 about 2 months ago, and we absolutely love it so far!! His teacher is excellent - attentive, caring, nurturing, fun, and kind!! She goes above and beyond to ensure the children are highly engaged, having fun, learning, and being appropriately redirected when needed all at once (and any of us who have toddlers know how difficult that can be). Not only does she create a great bond with the students, but she also has created great connections with us as the parents, and achieving both of these connections (with both the children and their parents) is such a sweet spot that she has mastered. Having met other teachers at the daycare, I am sure that they are fostering the same amongst their students and parents. In addition to his excellent teacher, we have had a great connection with the Directors as well; they show their genuine concern for each student and strive to have a personalized relationship with both parents and students. My son loves going to school each day, so that speaks volumes and gives my husband and me confidence that we made the right decision to send him to Shining Star. We love that our son's teacher and the daycare directors are very communicative, both throughout the day and overall with expectations (Parent Handbook, calendars, schedules, monthly meal plan, etc.). When there are concerns, they do not hesitate to reach out, which we love as involved parents. Since we are away from our son all day, we appreciate being able to see real-time updates about his day, including what he's eating, pictures, videos, notes, and updates. When we first started, I was amazed at this and thought maybe it was just to impress us at the beginning, but I can honestly say the daily updates are just as consistent now as they were the very first day we started. Their implementation of the Brightwheel app is exceptional, and we appreciate all of the touchpoints we get to have with our son throughout the day. We have loved engaging with our son's teacher, and we always feel very much in the "know" about everything that's going on. Finally, Shining Star has lived up to its name in helping our son THRIVE and be a SHINING STAR. Since he's been there, he has soared in potty training and in age-appropriate academic learning. He is only 2.5, but he is absolutely SHINING and growing and developing so well each day at Shining Star. We are beyond blessed to be able to partner with such a great daycare, teachers, and administrators as our sweet boy continues to grow!!! I would HIGHLY recommend Shining Star to any parent looking for an exciting and thriving environment for their child to grow and Shine!!!

My son absolutely loves going to daycare & loves his teacher! After having him at home with me for 15 months I was worried about separation anxiety (for both of us) but he has transitioned so well into full-time daycare and their schedule & the constant photos and updates on the app help me know he is learning, being taken care of, and is safe. I'm so happy that I decided to enroll my toddler in Shining Star Childcare. 💛

I recently had a disappointing experience with Shining Star Child Care. The facility felt unwelcoming and lacked a nurturing atmosphere. The staff seemed overworked and not particularly attentive to the children, which raised concerns about their engagement and care. Communication was another issue; updates on my child's day were infrequent, and when I had questions, the responses were often vague. The activities planned appeared repetitive and uninspired. It was stated when we started that a theme would be provided each month, which quickly dissipated as the months went on. After providing a two week notice that we will be leaving the facility, my child was dismissed three days later, leaving my family in a bind. I would not recommend Shining Star Child Care if you’re looking for a place where your child can thrive in a supportive environment.
