My children have been going here for 2 years. I was employed at a daycare next door where 2 of my children were enrolled. I actually reached out to Michelle because I did not like what I was seeing at the other daycare and wanted my baby somewhere I knew I could trust. She excepted her immediately after I told her the situation, and put another one of my children on her waiting list. I was finally able to get all of my daycare aged children in at Habitat. This has been the first time since loosing my mother I have been able to go to work and not worry about my children all day. The teachers are wonderful. My babies are so happy to be there when I drop them off and if that doesn’t tell you everything you need to know then I don’t know what will!

I absolutely love this school. All of the staff treat my children so well. Mr. Steve and Michelle have worked with me through anything I have ever needed and gone above and beyond to provide whatever they can to help me and my children out. Their daughter is amazing as well. Mr. Eli, their son, is an amazing physical education teacher. This school really knows how to prepare these students to be incredible adults. They are consistently working on character traits. Under the preschool program which both of my children are now in, so they have been through the daycare program and now the preschool program, my daughter knows her bones from her cranium to her patella to her phalanges. She was in Ms. Elia's class for the past year, and I couldn't have picked a better teacher if I paid 100k a year for her schooling. I along with a few other parents all had the opportunity to come in on different days, even unannounced to watch the children throughout the day and observe what they do. It was incredible to watch how easily ms. Elia was able to keep the children focused and on task. She knew when it was time for them to get their silly juices flowing and give them a dance break to help them get it out of their system. She never once lost her cool and was so loving on all of them. I have frequent interaction with her and watch her as much as I can as my daughter is so attached to her so I like to know what's going on and what she likes and doesn't like. There is a little boy that was in her class who was going through some things at home who acts out quite frequently. Ms. Elia did allow him to play on his own when he needed to. I feel like that is a much better option than forcing the child to sit with the other students and cause him distress and then have an outburst to hit the other children. This child is a sweet child and very loving but can cause great harm to other children when upset by throwing rocks at them or hitting or whatever the case may be. My daughter has been hurt several times by him, but it has always been addressed and the teachers all worked together to come up with a solution that encouraged every child to work peacefully and at their own speed. They were also extremely quick to explain to me what the situation was and what their plan of actions were. Before I could even ask why the little boy wasn't sitting with the rest of the class, ms. Elia took me to the side so the other children were unaware and explained to me what this accomplishes for everyone. But, he was still called on frequently and was paying attention to her lessons and knew the answers almost every single time. He was still paying attention and just chose to have his quiet time and not be overwhelmed by stimulation from the other children. Now that my family is going through a similar situation that the little boys family was going through, I see the changes it makes in children and it does cause quite a disturbance in their behavior. I am so thankful for this school that is walking me through it and I know my children are in great hands during the day and I fought to get them back to this school as quickly as possible when their dad hid them and put them in a new daycare behind my back. The other school, His little Angel's was uncooperative even with court orders and refused to even have a parent teacher conference with my children's teachers let alone witness what goes on during the day as it would disrupt the children.. habitat for learning has had no issues with it and the children do get excited to see a parent in the class, for 10 seconds.. then they are more excites to show how great they are doing and what all they are learning. Like the planets and Pluto being a dwarf planet, and that we live in North America and listing all the continents. At 3 years old this was amazing to me. They learned about their different cells, red, blue and white and their functions. They learn about proper diet and what foods contain what like chicken has protein and milk has calcium and what those words mean and how they work in your body. It's amazing!

Not at all up to standards on how a daycare should be run. I have seen two of the teachers yelling at the children, and just being plain rude. My child had nail marks dug into him, and when I asked about it..all the director could say was that it JUST HAPPENED. He explained that he was on the phone and my son was being difficult so he grabbed him to pull him out of the classroom. Then he had finger marks that were a deep blotted red on his upper arm, and he couldn't explain to me what happened. He admitted that had done the nail marks, but tried to justify it by saying it "just happened" and that he "had nails." Patience is definitely needed when working with children, and to put it simply; they just don't have it. Needless to say, I changed daycares.
