What Parents Say
First United Methodist Preschool in Edmond receives consistently high praise from parents. Reviewers highlight the caring and experienced staff, clean facility, nurturing environment, and flexible enrollment options. Multiple families have enrolled multiple children and report positive long-term experiences.
We have used first United Methodist for all of our children. Our son is now 8, and we have three girls currently in the program. We have loved every interaction, experience, programs we have done through them. The staff are phenomenal, the management is top tier and as far as pricing goes this is by far one of the best priced facilities we have found. It is clean, organized, never smells like some other places do and everyone knows my children's name. I am extremely picky about where i send my girls and there is no place else I trust to care for and nurture them. I think you should give the place a fair try before writing nasty reviews because we've been a part of the program for 7 years and have NEVER had a bad experience.
Our experience with the program was very different, and my child's grandfathers review reflects that. I understand families may be encouraged to post positive feedback, but that doesn’t change the fact that others have had valid concerns. I was also surprised by how some responses came across—especially toward my grandfather’s review from this summer. I wasn’t going to say more, but respectful dialogue matters when families share honest experiences!
🚩 Preschool Inquiry Experience – Proceed with Caution I wanted to share our recent experience with FUMC Preschool in Edmond as a heads-up for other families considering their program. We reached out with a respectful and thoughtful list of questions—things like curriculum, staff qualifications, governance structure, and family communication practices. Nothing intrusive, just due diligence before committing our child to a school. After receiving no response for over a week (including a follow-up voicemail from grandfather), we followed up again to clarify and make sure the email was received. What we got back wasn’t answers—but a dismissive email suggesting we might not be a "good fit" simply for asking for transparency, followed by the director stating she would no longer respond to emails and inviting us to “find her supervisor’s info on the website.” It was condescending, unprofessional, and incredibly disappointing—especially from someone leading a program that should be built on trust, communication, and partnership with families. We’ve since moved on, but I believe other parents deserve to know what they might encounter if they reach out with genuine interest. Asking questions should never be treated as a problem. Make sure the program you choose welcomes your voice, not shuts it down. Update: Per the preschool director’s suggestion, we reached out to her supervisor for further support. While we did receive a polite acknowledgment from the associate pastor, there has been no meaningful follow-up since. No clarification, no answers to our original questions, and no outreach from the director's supervisor. We followed the exact steps the director instructed us to take—and were met with silence once again. This experience has only reinforced our concerns. Families deserve transparency, professionalism, and a willingness to engage in open dialogue—especially when it comes to their child’s care. Unfortunately, that’s not what we encountered here.
Love FUMC!!! I have a 1 yo and a 4 yo. They both love their teachers and the classes. The teachers are so sweet and genuinely care about each kid. I feel really good about sending them to class every day!
Two of my grandchildren attended MDO and Pre-K for three years each. They both loved the school and the teachers are amazing. So warm and friendly. They really care about the kids here. The kids learned so much and were always excited to go to school everyday!
