Our grandson goes to school there and it's a beautiful building! Everyone is very nice and happy!
Just wanted to put anyone who sees this, on notice, and let you all be aware that this program IS NOT all it is made out to be. They do not genuinely care about the needs of the residents, nor are they a contribution to the progress of the ones who move out. The ones who have moved out, primarly did it themselves even if they didnt know how, or have any experience. This program isn't suitable for anyone with trauma or mental health struggles. I am speaking on behalf of people who have been in the program. They only care about themselves and keeping their jobs, rather than focusing on assisting the residents. The staff is there very inconsistently, and hardly present during the day, and they don't consistently answer phone calls or text messages either. The way this program is run is the complete opposite of what it stands for. Instead of giving empowerment, they take even more away. There have been reports of lead in the paint of the building as well. Giving a 6 week notice to the residents to find a more permanent place to live IS NOT realistic. Not taking into account the fact that if they can't help you find a place in the 6 weeks, then you have to go to DSS to be set up for staying in a hotel if there is even availability. They are sending 4 families out without a guaranteed place to live. This to me does not warrant support or admiration.
Ac system needs to be updated, will shut off when it's a certain temp outside even though it gets over 85° in the room. The maintenance guy doesn't do much on the 4th floor so there's a lot wrong and nobody below takes the needs or concerns of the people or staff up there. Wi-Fi is really poor. But the staff on the 4th floor are very sweet and try very hard advocating for the people
Nice place staff is very friendly and helpful.
I lived here years ago while attending JCC. Safe place to be and helped me with other needs
