Young Scholars Academy is a premiere preschool with highly trained educators with over 40 years of educational experience. We give and support the educational experience of all our children and families that are apart of our school. It is our policy to engage our center like a school with high standards towards a child's educational, social, and behavioral development. We always welcome healthy parental support at our school. Our families are direct benefactors of our school's mission and vision and their children's growth and development is evident of our school's success. We do understand that all families are not a fit for our school and encourage them to seek services where their needs can best be accomplished. We teach our students to support and encourage their peers in a healthy and appropriate manner, which helps to build strong friendships. Likewise we service our families in the spirit of best practice and kindness. We welcome all who are seeking an inspiring school experience for their child(ren) to tour our facility, meet our teachers, and other families.
The school is very big on education, can’t take that away from them. But all around they are not ready to run a safe and secure child care facility. Mr.Burnie makes inappropriate comments about children clothing, my 13 year old that don’t even attend the facility is uncomfortable going in alone now. I have a opened DCF case against them right now, so I suggest all parents who genuinely love their child to not take your kids here. They don’t allow the parents to have a relationship with teachers, everything is said and done through the owners. They pay their employees under the table, so many have quit or don’t stay longer than 2months. DCF have questioned us parents before because of others accusations, and they will politely kick your kids out if your concern is to extreme for them. I am so disappointed in the facility. THE BURNIES ARE NOT WHAT WE THINK. It’s a money thing with them, they get paid for my school age kids, but do not pick them up. Mrs. Burnie has forged my signature on paperwork to get paid for days my kids did not attend. Don’t do it!!!!!!
Where do I begin?! This place use to be a mortuary, for starters. They are big on education and my child has learned a lot, however, Mr. Burney is so rude it’s intoxicating! He yells at kids, gets smart and mouth off to the parents. I heard him tell a child “he owns them while there.” He is disrespectful, beyond words. They constantly have signs posted on their door saying they will be closed for whatever reason without communicating it to the parents, not to mention it is such short notice and a major inconvenience. You are not allowed to see your child nor go to the the area where they are located, one must wait in the front while they bring you your child. You have to set an appointment to visit your child. What are you hiding? Mrs. Burney allows All of this so she is equally responsible. The teachers are wonderful...but THEM.. they are horrible.
