Would not recommend taking your kids here for swimming lessons. Coach Fern is a rude and unprofessional coach. She constantly yells at the kids makes them cry and when you correct her and tell her she shouldn’t be yelling at the kids she gets loud and aggressive. She yelled at my 4 year old as if she was yelling at her own kids. I pay for my son to get swimming lessons not to get yelled at and disrespected. All the kids in the class are 3 years old to 7 years old learning how to swim not in a swimming team. If she doesn’t have the patience to teach kids maybe she shouldn’t just work there. Not the first time she has gotten loud with a parent. Don’t waste your money and it’s a ashame because I paid $200 for his lessons till December 17 and I refuse to go back to be disrespected. There needs to be consequences for her behavior and actions.

We have been at the Union Y Daycare for over a year and couldn’t be happier. The teachers for the youngest two rooms have been kind, loving, and professional with our (now) one-year-old. Our child is happy at drop off in the morning (waves for everyone) and is happy when we pick up as well - and we get pictures and updates through the app through the day. We’d happy recommend Y daycare to any expecting or recent parents.

Love the Y! My family has used the facility in all different capacities. We have sent all 5 of our kids to the daycare where they are truly loved and taken care of. What we love the most is the diversity of children and teachers in each classroom. Each of our children have long lasting relationships with the staff. We have used their sports programming, holiday programing and summer programming. All of the programs were created and managed with such thoughtfulness and care towards the parents and children. Another great aspect is the ability to rent and utilize their facilities for various events. We have used many of their rooms and space for personal events and communal events. If you haven't had a chance to utilize the Y in some capacity you're missing out!

I have had at least one child in the Y, in either daycare or summer camp or both, for the last eight years. My youngest will be starting at the daycare next year. The Y is an incredibly warm place, with a staff that has come to feel like family. We are always greeted with big smiles, and even staff we don't interact with often remember me and my children and ask how we're doing. The swim instructor, Fern, has taught all my kids to swim during camp and in private lessons. She's great. I've also been to many of the Y's Zumba and yoga classes, which were free with our membership. Glad to be a part of the Union Y. :)

The Y is our home away from home. My kids went to day care, day camp and we come to swim on the weekends. We use the workout room and come for social events throughout the year. The Y loves my kids and we love the Y! We are always amazed at the care and love the staff gives and we have been happy using the Y for almost 20 years!
