Ymca/St. Margaret Mary Afterschool Program

I don’t think I ever saw myself reviewing a church, but I am doing so only because I am here as a visitor and it could be beneficial to visitors like me. I have been here for a couple of months on a temporary job assignment and had been trying to find a Catholic Church that I would feel comfortable in. I know everything by memory but only in Spanish and the church I went to was very far away. I then landed in Saint Margaret’s and could not believe my eyes when I saw two huge screens, one to the left and one to the right with everything I needed to say in English, the creed, our Lord’s prayer, the responses, everything! This small little detail made all the difference and I am so thankful they had that. Because of this, I encourage anyone who speaks a different language to visit this church knowing they will be able to say all the prayers without an issue.

Lovely, and welcoming parish. My son and I ended up going there on new years because there was scheduling issue with our normal parish.

Just went for their lent fish dinner. The fish (cod I believe ) was well seasoned. Really good. Also had green beans, french fries, and 2 rather small hush puppies. I was not disappointed, but I will visit a different location next Friday.

Attended the annual picnic. Lots of activities for all the family. Live music. Tasty picnic fare. Lots of opportunities to win toys and household items.

The people that work here are the nicest people I have ever worked with in my entire life. The campus is extremely well kept and they are not overbearing in their approach to practicing religion. Candy Nieves who works the front desk is knowledge, friendly, and down-to-earth. Cindy in accounting and Susan White the Parish Office Manager always went out of there way to help me and make me feel at home You can see the passion for their workplace in their everyday approach to making everyone there feel like family. The school is Pre-K through 8th Grade and the teachers are just as passionate about their work, raising well-rounded young people. The students were the most well-behaved kids I have seen in a school setting and always seemed to be genuinely interested in their studies. The administrators of the school are extremely good at their jobs and always were accommodating to my needs while working as the Director of IT Operations, and are easy to become fast friends with due to their open-hearted nature. I am not Catholic nor do I follow an organized religion, but I do try to follow a spiritual path and treat all my fellow human beings with respect and kindness. However, if I were to decide to follow one religious dogma, I would definitely start by attending services at St Margaret Mary!
