I’ve only been a member for a little under a month and the Sauna and steam room never look like they’ve been cleaned since I’ve started. I do see them clean the jacuzzi regularly though and it is multiple workout rooms there. The pool is open year round and they offer multiple child care services here. I have been in some of the rooms to workout in and have had a hard time finding cleaning solution for the equipment and the equipment looks as if it has not been cleaned or touched in a long while but that’s not terrible I suppose. I do regret that when I got the tour I specifically asked about bringing guest and was told I could bring guest but they do not remember how many guests passes I get a year. I remembered it was a certain number a couple years ago when I had an active membership. I had family in town that wanted to workout with me and was told they couldn’t come in because they haven’t allowed guest in since Covid. So it seems as if I was misinformed. Other than that I think it is a good facility and can be even better with a few clean ups. SN: I trainers come with the membership and I will be seeing how well their’s are here soon.
Certainly an older Y but as an out of town visitor at $10/visit, I felt it was good value for money. There was only a single Concept2 rowing machine but it was actually in great condition (kudos to whoever maintains it) and I used the free weights also. The steam room was good but there was some major work happening on my second visit so I couldn't use it again. Overall, recommended. Note that visitors need to use the main entrance (smaller sign!) rather than the quick access parking at the back (larger sign!) which requires a card to get in.
The Silver Sneaker's classroom is entirely too small to accommodate twenty five people while in motion. We need to stay active! We need this class. Please create a solution. Move the class to the gym maybe?
Ive been a member going on 8 years now and the last few weeks I’ve noticed a complete shift ( and not for the better). I have been attending group X classes almost the whole time I’ve been a member ( mostly Hitt) they have gone downhill and have ran off all the good Hitt instructors. I’m super close to canceling my membership & joining crunch because for the price difference why wouldn’t you? As much as the memberships cost I feel they should at least freshen up the restrooms and some of the gym equipment… the women’s restrooms In the front and back are so dated & ran down.. I also definitely do not feel as welcomed as I used to up there, hardly anyone speaks or greets you as you walk though, if anything some staff give nasty stares. I hope they listen to the people’s needs/wants and straightened everything out to the ymca I used to know & love.
I took swim lessons here recently and the instructor did not seem to care about teaching me. Until I find someplace better, I’ll stick around for the jacuzzi.
