Somewhat actual engaging teachers but where to really begin? Bad neighborhood. No cameras on campus. School says because of lack of funds yet cameras should have been installed years ago here. Questionable people freely walk through school grounds during school hours. Bars on windows. Tagging on the exterior. Shootings, stabbings, and assaults happen given the area. One person just got shot and killed at an apartment complex a couple blocks away. Wouldn't recommend the school.
My kids have been at the school for three years and I can say nothing but positive things about the amazing teachers who are truly dedicated to the kids. This school is a real community and I have never had this experience in any public school in Gresham Barlow or North Clackamas School Districts. Unfortunately the school is in a rough neighborhood but I think the staff and administrators are managing for this the best they can. My kids love going to school here and they feel as if they are deeply valued as individuals. They are both given the individual attention they need to succeed academically.
We pulled our kids out in February. We found out both of our kids have been outside alone and the campus is not fully fenced. They were sent out (and locked out) during school hours. This is not in any way acceptable to us.. The staff is friendly.. But the safety issues just doesn't work out for us..
