Had an amazing experience at the YMCA yesterday. Huge shoutout to Harry at the front desk — his positivity, energy, and genuine excitement made the whole membership process feel effortless. He gave us a great tour and made us feel right at home. Mimi was also super kind and helpful. Staff like them are the reason places like the YMCA feel warm and welcoming. Highly recommend this location!

8/9/2025 - Thank LADWP for providing many EMERGENCY MOBILE EQUIPMENT for people taking showers at a few locations during the emergency period - more than 9,200 LADWP customers in Granada Hills and Porter Ranch have no water at home since Tuesday, 8/5/2025 because a deeply buried valve was broken.

A nice YMCA north of LA. It seems a little dated and could use a uplift. It is definitely a plus that there is a basketball court and right next to it ia the main weight room. The staff is super friendly. Early mornings are not busy at all.

Visited this local ymca to see if it was suitable for my child and I. I have recently moved into California from outer state with my little one and was visiting the gyms around my home to see which one I will make my home gym. It was very busy when I got there but Harry made the process seamless and made sure to attend us timely and show us around. He was very enthusiastic and welcoming while walking us through the center and answered all of my questions that I bombarded him with (sorry!😅) they offer a wide range of activities for both myself and for children my kid’s age. Thank you!

I have not been to this ymca in years, but my review explains the reason why. I was a member, along with my children for quite awhile. I was listed on the application and the membership as the “head of household” and the only adult member. The ymca accidentally double charged me for something. Not a huge deal. I went in and told them I would need a refund. They said they would only give a refund to my “husband” as he is the head of the household. I told them that not only was there no husband as the head of my household, but that there was no husband on my membership, and that every month, they received payment directly from ME because I was the paying member. They argued with me about it until I left. When I finally received the refund, it was in the form of a check. The check was written to my ex husband, so I could not cash it. My ex husband had never once paid our ymca bill or even gone to their facility. I disputed the charge with my bank, cancelled our family membership and never went back. When they called me to ask me why I cancelled, they told me that since they’re the “young MENS Christian association” I had no rights there as a woman. This was in the 2000s mind you, not the 1800s. Hopefully they’re less discriminatory now, but that was bad enough that I don’t even care. I gave two stars because the facility itself was decent.
