The gym is very clean, and members are generally respectful, which creates a pleasant atmosphere. There are plenty of treadmills for cardio, though the selection of strength machines is somewhat limited. Unfortunately, the front desk staff often come across as rude rather than just unapproachable, which makes interactions feel unpleasant. I understand they greet hundreds of people each week, but a little kindness goes a long way and would make the experience much better. *Locker rooms, sauna, steam room and *showers are gender specific. Not co ed. *Pools and whirlpool available alongside free WiFi, water station and basketball courts. *No running track *Cycle studio and classes available, including music lessons, art lessons and childcare. *no obnoxious loud music playing overhead which can offer less sensory overload. Headphones or ear buds have a better chance to block out sounds. * rehabilitation room is now an e-gym which will require a set up for a login.

The facility is really nice, the egym system is cool, but y’all had me at the art department - the classes and staff and resources are phenomenal 🙏🌷🪽 Also, I’ve never had an unpleasant interaction with staff nor have I ever seen the building dirty. Other than maybe the newer Baldwinsville location, this is my favorite YMCA hands down. There are genderless bathrooms, and genderless changing rooms located right outside of the locker rooms. I don’t know how anyone would want much more or could criticize this facility; baffling

I was visiting from out of town and hoping to get some sort of day pass, 1 week membership, or something that would allow me to workout while visiting family for the holidays. The issue wasn’t that they didn’t have what I was looking for, I expected that they might not. The issue was that when I asked they looked at me like I had 3 heads and acted like I was asking for the nuclear launch codes. The best they could do was a 1 month out of town membership for $56, and even to get that information took some work. Save your self the hassle if you are visiting, go to crunch fitness in Dewitt where a 1 day pass costs $10 and they have secure lockers to use. I have been to other YMCA locations as a non member and been accommodated, this was a first.

This YMCA in Fayetteville is one of the most uninspiring places to work out. The facility feels very outdated, and the bathrooms and locker rooms are consistently dirty and poorly maintained. The overall infrastructure really needs attention. I hope the organization invests in improvements, because the community deserves a cleaner, more motivating space to exercise. I am also disappointed in the overall professionalism of some of the young staff who care for children after school. I expect after-school caregivers to model positive behavior and professionalism, and I have not always felt confident that this is the case. Another major issue is the lack of an appropriate outdoor playground for children of all ages. Kids need a safe and engaging outdoor space, and this is noticeably missing from the facility.

I hadn't been to the facility for years. I started a group exercise program, and everyone was very helpful and supportive. I felt very welcome.
