What Parents Say
Parents report significant operational and management issues at this YMCA facility. Major concerns include sudden daycare closure with one week notice, inadequate staffing and lifeguard availability, poor communication, and lack of customer service. While teachers were noted as caring, systemic problems with organization and leadership overshadow positive staff interactions.
Have not been able to go into therapy pool over 2 wks no life guards only in the morning and that's it so not far to us that don't come in a 6 am to use it
Our children attended the YMCA’s Strawberry Patch daycare for two years. While the teachers were loving and gentle, the operations of the daycare were unprofessional. Because of the Y’s mismanagement of the daycare, five teachers all quit without a two day period. Instead of trying to hire new teachers or help the families in any way, the Y opted to close the daycare down indefinitely, giving the families only ONE WEEK notice of the closure. We were of course still charged tuition. Lack of transparency, lack of empathy, and lack of communication all describe how the Y handled this highly stressful nightmare that ultimately led dozens of hard working families in Pittsburgh without care for their infants and toddlers
Closing the Camp Spencer Superstars program goes completely against the mission of the YMCA. Do not support this organization if they cannot serve the most vulnerable population in our community!!!
After dealing with the guys in their marketing department in the Greentree office I decided that I am no longer interested in supporting the YMCA. You need new employees
Horrible organization. Had to call the police on a violent life guard. Don't want to go back because of it but still not even a partial refund. It was 2 days into the month.
