Such a good facility that offers various workout and fitness options, at affordable options. They have a great pool, basketball court, gym and even yoga, dance and fitness classes
This is one of the nicest YMCA's. I've been to. The building is clean and modern , with a large gym. One of my favorite things about this Y is that they have indoor track!
Don't get a membership here for the pool. The slide has been broken for an astronomical amount of time. There are also tons of rules. We've been here many times and all of a sudden all of my kids have to take a swim test. If they don't pass the test you have to go in the water with them even though they have a lifeguard duty. Also, apparently you can't take pictures of your children. That's right, your own children you cannot take pictures of you while they're having fun. Honestly, I'm seriously contemplating canceling our membership due to our recent visit.
Yesterday, we arrived at the YMCA pool around 5 pm after school and work (we drive 30 minutes to get there). Initially, the lifeguard explained that swim lessons were happening in half the pool and told us we could either wait an hour to use the family pool or use the lap lanes, which was fine. Around 5:30 pm, the lifeguard told my kids they should not swim in the lap lanes, because adults are swimming there (playing). By 5:45 pm, the family pool had become free, but she still did not allow them to swim. We waited until 5:50 pm and asked again, but were told to wait another 40 minutes. After 6 pm, another family arrived and was immediately allowed to use the family pool, even though she could clearly see that we had been waiting. To plan better in the future, I asked another lifeguard which days the family pool is open/closed, and I was told that the family pool is always open. This makes the earlier restrictions confusing and frustrating. This experience was very disappointing for my children, especially since we travel 30 minutes to get there. While we respect pool rules and safety, inconsistent treatment and lack of clear communication made it a frustrating experience. I hope the YMCA can review this situation to ensure fair and consistent treatment for all families.
It’s hard to put the Y past anything but 3 stars they have a great gym and a great pool however the pool is in essentially inaccessible for anyone during the week day due to YMCA storm something exclusive to Nashua and Merrimack , it makes paying the same price as a YMCA without the storm team baffling , why offer a pool if from 4-8;30 Monday-Thursday 4 of the 5 lanes are occupied by your own programs makes no sense.
