What Parents Say
This is a YMCA facility rather than a dedicated daycare. Reviews primarily focus on gym, pool, and wellness amenities. Parents praise the professional and accommodating staff, cleanliness, and quality instruction across programs.
I came here a few days ago to go workout and swim. The workout was nice and relaxing there was a few really cute guys I hit on in the locker room as well. Gotta love a good workout and some hot jocks and twinks. The pool was nice and warm and relaxing as well the chlorine wasn’t too bad. Usually indoor pools have a very strong smell, and it burns my eyes. This one did not. The only bad thing is when I got done and was getting changed in the men’s locker room a big spider 🕷️ dropped out of its web off the ceiling and took my BRAND NEW bathing suit and hung it in its web to dry. Now it got webbing on it and it’s gross so I let the spider have it. Can you take care of the spider problem and give me my bathing suit back?? Maybe you just have to ask the spider nicely it was scary so I didn’t wanna bother it.
Love the Pool, and the GYM. there is a small GYM in the back end too if you doing simple stuff and dont want to many ppl around you. The swim Coaches are Very good
All the instructors are positive and motivational. A great place to workout especially if you have a big family like I do. There is something for all age groups to do. I wish the daycare would be open from 1pm-4pm and the facility would stay open later on the weekends for people who get off work late along with given the youth a positive place to be on the weekend. All staff are friendly and genuine. I went from 420lbs to 350lbs in a year in this facility because of the various programs and encouragement of staff/members that make you feel welcome each time I entered the place!
The Dover YMCA gym has several things that could be improved. First, the customer service. They didn’t manage my bank account change correctly, and I had to pay a percentage because of their mistake. Second, some of the machines are rusty, and the bars leave stains on your clothes. Lastly, if you go during certain hours in the morning or afternoon, it gets really crowded, and you have to wait to use the equipment.
I have disabilities that cause me to faint or have seizures. Because of that, I have a medical alert/response service dog . The staff throughout the facility are EXTREMELY professional, accomodating, and helpful. Tonight, (02/24/2025) I had a medical episode and felt safe enough to pass out with my service dog tasking. I layed down in the hallway (on a super clean floor), and they respected the patches, checked on me, and left us so my dog could do his job. I recovered significantly easier and still got to go swimming instead of needing to leave. AND THEN!!!! a lifeguard acted as a secondary handler, without missing a beat. I got to do a full swim workout, which has not been able to happen in 10 years! I cried literal tears of joy in the locker room because it hit me that I am safe and comfortable enough at the Dover YMCA to have more independence! I'm gonna start tearing up thinking of it again 🥹😁. THANK YOU!
