Ymca Fun Company At Walter Hill

I’ve had my daughter in this program since kindergarten. We’ve had three different incidences with management of this program. The first one occurred when my ex-husband did not pick up our daughter as he should. I was contacted and had to rush across town to pick her up. The whole entire time I was being threatened it they would call DCS, even though I explain the situation to the site director and told her I was on my way. The next occurrence occurred because a late fee was accrued. This happened at the height of Covid when children came out of school and went home on virtual learning platforms. Once the kids went back to school and aftercare, I completely forgot about the fee because I had not been into the account and making payments for months. I was more than willing to pay it, but was given notice one day before threatening to remove her from the program to pay a five dollar fee. The third occurrence happen because they are allowing parents to block the main driveway which approaches the portable where children go. Parents were parking right in front of the building which inhibits other parents to get through the driveway to the actual parking spots. When asked if they could suggest to the parents to park in actual spots they said they could not do that. So basically the rest of us to have to sit there and wait for the other parents to come out of the portable and get in the cars and leave. The response I received via email was from someone named Lauren Williams who is supposed to be a higher up in the organization. Her email did not even use proper English, and refused to actually address my concern. It appears this program has low enrollments and it is very obvious why.

My daughter went to Ruby Major fun company last but. It wasn't a good experience. The staff was very unfriendly, they used to yell at kids and have unrealistic expectations from kids. They always wanted the kids to be quiet even when it wasn't necessary like during playtime. Some of them just sat the whole time and never interacted with the kids . I was very disappointed and sad at the same time since its the only summer camp option we have close to home

This place is terrible My child went to Barkers Mill Elementary for before care. The director there is terrible she will hunt you down with a laptop to make your payment regardless of your situation. The funco policy is if you do not pay your fee then your child can not be at the program, but guess what you still have to pay your fee eventhough your not supposed to bring your child. I have always had an issue with payment a few times. I have always paid my late fee and fee for my childs attendance at funco YMCA. I have spoken to people in the office such as the supervisor regarding this policy. The place does not care they are money hungery. The director should be fired this Funco Company needs to close. I will never bring my child here again. Please look into this before bringing your child to Funco YMCA.

Not the best of places, it may be better now but when I went when I was a child the college aged counselor made us swim on a day it was cloudy and 40-45°F. Also got in over 5 fights here thanks to no fun company help, tried to tell the staff to help, get multiple individuals away from me, tried to talk to them about other stuff but they really do NOT care. Never filled out reports of me gashing my arms and finger, still have the scars to this day, they told me to walk it off. Gave a bandage and I had to get 4 stitches as soon as I got home and got to the hospital. This is definitely not all True Christian employees, employers, even who is the manager or in control of the fun company tried to get me in trouble with the law because I hit one of the counselors at the Pavillion bc he pushed me!? What kind of since does this make guys???

They are money hungry! They say your child cannot come if you have not paid by the week of. They charge a late fee of $5 each time you don't pay on a Friday, even if you pay on Saturday. All they care about is money. They are a small business who could work with you if you are having a hard time paying, but they don't. (I believe in karma. Good luck to you!) They could care less about your children and your family, they just want your money. I would look for other options of before and after care before choosing them! Most people who work for them don't even have children of their own!
