Ymca Early Learning Center (Valley)

I went to visit this YMCA location excited because it was close by us and most of the YMCA’s I’ve seen look very upstanding and trusting. For starters I was told I had to pay out of pocket the first week, when I had just talked to someone two days prior who told me my childcare assistance vouchers would be covering it from day one and that we just needed to sort it out that day. Turns out the lady I talked to got me and three other parents confused. So that was a mess that had to be sorted out and potentially delay their start date more if we chose this daycare. So after sorting that issue out, I was watching over the classroom my two-year old daughter would potentially be in. They were in the “gross motor room” which is essentially like a small gym. What would’ve been my daughter’s teacher yanked a toy cart out of another two year old (or younger,)‘s hands because he was driving over a middle fake grass area of the room and she expected the kids to only play around that circle. Which made me wonder what she is doing when parents aren’t around, even more concerning that this was my first visit to see if I even liked the daycare! Like wow! I asked about a fax or email to send my kids’ medical records and was told they didn’t have a front desk staff for that? And then I get home and realize when I go to look at the enrollment paperwork (my kids did love playing here so I was conflicted at first)-rather than give me enrollment paperwork to fill out, they gave me two other kids’ COMPLETED ENROLLMENT PAPERWORK. And they didn’t even realize they did it!! That’s two kids, somebody else’s children’s, personal information plus I’d assume the parent’s ok there as well. It’s sad seeing daycares hanging by a string like this and nothing is done. I worked in childcare a year prior to seeing this center and I would suggest to not even bother with this place. It needs to be shut down. Might I add it’s not the best area, and in a small old run down strip mall. I had men staring at me and my kids from every side of the parking lot, coming in and out of the daycare as it’s in the back.

The director is very rude, I tried getting a job with them. She is not compassionate or understanding. She wanted me to come have my son go to the daycare even though I tried my hardest to work with them because I'm a single mother in desperate need of a job. I would not recommend trying.

As a parent and a member of the staff. I can't say enough good things about Valley early learning center. The knowledgeable, friendly, and dependable staff are doing a great job providing excellent care and early education within the community and beyond.

I love this center. They take care of my children as if they were their own. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!! :)
