I’m a new member here. So impressive so far. Came from Villa Sport where they have raised prices and facility is in need of a lot of updates. YMCA is spotless. Locker room and main fitness area is always clean and every machine is working. I see a guy named Johnny there every day cleaning and vacuuming. Staff and people here are very friendly. Nice place to be.
My son has been playing basketball through this YMCA for 2-3 years. Because of their program, my son fell in love with the sport. He started flag football through the program over a year ago, and he also fell in love with this sport! We’ve had an amazing coach, amazing parents, and understanding refs. We will always thank the YMCA for getting my son started in sports! They put so much love and care into their youth sports programs, and it is definitely noticed.
Incredibly incompetent employees this weekend for kids basketball. No one from the YMCA was running the games. Kids sat, without subbing in for over 25 minutes and then the “employee” was just on her phone the whole time and didn’t care when parents and coaches were telling her that the clock wasn’t being managed. They got the “manager” presumably after 30 minutes and he seemed to not care at all and said “hopefully it’ll be better next weekend”. Couldn’t care less about the kids or parents concerns. Wild way to handle the situation when we paid money for this. Our son was really disappointed he just sat on the wall the whole. Not a reflection of the coaches at all, it’s on the employees 100%.
The facility is clean and the pool is great, although it would be nice if the hours for lap swimming were longer. I am giving a 3 star review because your front desk staff is rude. I am visiting from Arizona and have a national membership. Twice I have gone there and been lectured about "You're using the wrong bar code reader" by the rude front desk people. This isn't a great way to greet visitors to your city and your YMCA. My facilities in Arizona are much friendlier. Can't wait to go back next month. Oh well, never liked living in Co springs and glad I left for the desert and friendly people.
Staff are friendly, the new equipment is nice. My 2 gripes are they got rid of the chest supported rows and the adductor machine
