Ymca Black Mountain Afterschool

Im not sure why my review was erased?? I had a terrible experience here at the YMCA in Black Mountain. I was being harassed by a man here and he wouldn’t leave were I was working out. As soon as I sat down he was staring me up and down. I wasn’t sure if this is what he was doing and I just minded my own business. Well he was and wouldn’t leave me alone and he asked me if he could use the machine. I told him no because I literally just sat down. This guy was really weird and wouldn’t leave me alone so I recorded him. He went and grabbed management Scott the director and Scott came out yelling at me asking me how many reps I had. I told Scott what had happened and he refused to listen to me. During and After this incident this predator person would not leave. I politely asked him to leave me alone in front of Scott and he still didn’t leave. Scott just stood there as if I were the aggressor. Luckily there were 3 woman who witnessed what happened and one stood up to this strange and scary guy, and the other one said he did the same to her, and another said she was glad I was here and didn’t want me to leave. Scott was so aggressive towards me and so rude. I do believe him to be racist and sexist as well as the other men who stood around and didn’t do anything and basically sided with this very dangerous man harassing me. This wasn’t my first aggressive encounter here as a man yelled at me at the pool. Once again another woman witnessed and saw what happened and was there to counsel me. Scott the director is a very dangerous person and people need to be careful of him. It’s funny that you would rather erase or hide the review versus taking accountability. Scott you are a very biased person who does not know how to handle problems. If anyone else has a problem like this, please do not be afraid to complain and ask to speak to Andrew or a lawyer. I am happy to give this YMCA a five-star rating because the facility is always exceptionally clean and well-maintained. The staff members are incredibly friendly and go out of their way to make everyone feel welcome. It is a fantastic environment for a workout, and I highly recommend it to anyone in the community.

For over two years, I've been a consistent member of the YMCA, mainly using the exercise equipment and sauna. The equipment is up-to-date and easy to use. The outdoor space is also a lovely spot with a cushioned floor to do floor work on. I enjoy the community feeling of seeing familiar faces and neighbors often. The staff is friendly and helpful.

This facility is always clean and tidy The classes are challenging but I love that Instructors are knowledgeable and friendly I love everything about the Y so far

Very small but lovely gym with excellent facilities. I especially appreciate the outdoor space and large studio
