I hate to dig on the YMCA, but they miss the gym portion on so many levels. It's great to be popular, but the gym area is way too small. I think the gym area is the most used area in the complex. They have 3 classrooms, that I'm sure get used 3-4 times a day. However, the actual gym area is way too small. The gym area is used at all times, not part time. Also, they have 2 basketball court areas? I get that basketball is popular, but 2 court areas seems like an unwise use of space. They are currently doing a remodel to the gym area. Its the 3rd week of January - one of the busiest weeks of the year for gyms. You pick now to close areas and move equipment around? It's the busiest time of the year - why have 25% of the gym off limits? Have you thought of doing it in June/July when usage is down and it's not nearly as disruptive? Finally, they have a maintenance staff. Why are there so many lights burned out? It can be a little creepy on mornings and nights during the winter when there's not a lot of natural light. It's great that you're getting new machines, but if you don't oil them and do some preventative maintenance, they'll be in poor condition very quickly.

Review on the gym floor only; sadly they have basically ruined it. What's the most popular weight apparatus in any gym? The bench press and they just removed two of three of them. With all the high schoolers at this place it was hard enough to secure a bench when there were three, now will be impossible at busy times. Not sure who thought this was a good idea but they are not actual weight gym users....sadly no input from members before this change....will be looking elsewhere now.

An indoor pool with child structures that doesn't have a waitlist! We went from 4-6 PM, and we didn't even have to ask about a pool capacity. They had 5 lifeguards working and there was plenty of space for my toddler to enjoy himself. Such a change of pace compared to the Cottonwood Creek YMCA - where you have to wait in lines outside an hour before the pool opens for a CHANCE to swim. Definitely will become regulars here.

I take my adult niece there to use the pool. The gym part is kind of awful with a real shortage of machines and choices and there’s a lot of high school boys who seem to swarm around all the machines and hog them. I would much rather go to planet fitness any day, but they don’t have a pool.

For the amount we're paying (my husband and I) we had higher expectations. It's almost the same cost as our membership at Villa Sport. The building is huge but only a small section is the Y. The workout area is small, and the cable machines are old. The locker room is always hot and muggy, very outdated. It reminds me of my high-school locker room. Edited to add: the wifi is terrible, and bring your own mat! The equipment provided is disgusting!
