What Parents Say
Parents praise the YMCA Afterschool program for its excellent facilities, cleanliness, and caring staff. The daycare services receive particular recognition for quality childcare and swimming instruction. The facility offers good value with affordable pricing and a strong sense of community.
I like The layout of our facility, the whirlpool, steam and dry sauna and pool area. I also like having the rooms for individual workouts. Our steam room is one of the feet’s that have it. Also, having the daycare, restaurant and security make it like our own little country club with a variety of amenities. There is a new app out that I will download but I did like the previous app.
Great place to workout. They have 2-3 people walking around always cleaning the used machines. Reading the reviews I have to say that they wipe down the mats after every use. You must wear a mask unless you are doing cardio. If you want to wear you can. There are bottles of cleaner and paper towels thru out the gym. Gym has full equipment. Every bike and treadmill has cable and screens with aps. No join fee and 55 a month is a steal when you compare it to other places. Saturday is half day so it gets busy and most machines are full.
I’ll start off by saying nice things about it. The equipment is top notch & the facility is fairly clean on the wellness floor and through most of the place. Most staff are very kind. Pool area is solid and the steam room works wonderfully. My issue stems with the enforcement of rules and non-rules. The trainers are great and very accommodating of other patrons’s space. However, kids can run amuck & people can throw dumbbells around. However when I deadlift on the Olympic platform well within the rules, leave it to two wellness floor employees to single me out & interrupt me mid-set every single time.
Please for the love of God, upgrade the lighting in this facility. It feels like a stuffy prison more than a gym. All the other YMCAs I’ve been to are well lit. Especially the Gymnasium. Good for mole people, bad for sports.
Older feeling YMCA but fine IMO. I do the Farm Share Veggie pickup “Plant it Forward” program here. You subscribe, pay a weekly fee and they leave veggies on the porch in the back. They are really fresh. You bring a bag and pick them up out of a cooler. I haven’t cooked with some of these vegetables before. I like the challenge :) 4 star review just cause it’s an older y, and the steam room kinda smells The daycare room is big and spacious for kids
