I am extremely disappointed in how this program has handled a recent situation involving my daughter. She has been attending for nearly a year and has never caused any problems. She is quiet, respectful, and keeps to herself. Yet, I was informed that she is no longer allowed to return to the program due to an argument that occurred between me and another parent. To be clear, this situation only escalated because another parent chose to interrupt and bother me while I was in the middle of a conversation with a teacher. I was advocating for my child, but instead of addressing the root of the issue, the blame was placed entirely on me—the Black woman—for reacting after being provoked. Meanwhile, the other parent's child is allowed to remain in the program. This program is predominantly Mexican, with fewer than ten African American children enrolled. Until recently, my daughter was the only Black girl in her class. It’s hard to overlook the racial bias in how this situation was handled. Even more disturbing is the fact that my daughter has come home multiple times with bruises and marks from being hit by other children in the program—children who were never held accountable or removed. My daughter has never been violent or disruptive, and yet she’s the one being pushed out. Why is it that the quiet, respectful child is forced to leave, while kids who physically harm others are allowed to stay? The drop-off process is another issue that shows how disorganized and inconsiderate this program can be. Parents are required to wait in line, sometimes for 10–15 minutes, because only one parent is allowed inside at a time. This has repeatedly made me late for both work and school. Frankly, this entire situation is unjust, and I will be contacting corporate to formally report it. If one child is being removed for a conflict between parents, then both children should be. None of this would have escalated if the other parent hadn’t interfered in the first place. The way this was handled is not only unprofessional, it’s discriminatory. At the end of the day, I believe in karma. What you put out into the world will come back to you. My daughter deserves better, and I will make sure her next environment reflects that.

I do not recommend anyone put their children in this center. These people operate by their own rules and guidelines. Unprofessional in front of children and lack of respect for employees. I’ve watched so many people come and go. The supervisor Tina Guajardo lied to me about the center being open last Friday and never apologized. The first chance I get to pull my baby out of this center we’re gone for good!

It is what you make of it. Plenty of available resources if you take advantage of them.
