Work and play school is more than just some preschool or after-school program you send your children to, I have had my children attending here since 2000. I have 6 children all of who still talk about the teachers/staff and owner of Work and Play because it wasn't just someplace they were attending school it was a place where they felt like family, where my husband and I felt like family. Everyone there genuinely cares about the children and their families, they keep you involved in every aspect of your child's learning and development, they are Accredited by NAEC which means they are teaching a curriculum that will prepare your children for their academic futures. Not only do they develop intellectually, but they also developed emotionally and socially. They teach the children how to use their words to communicate their feeling, for example, "when you do that it makes me feel...so please don't do that", they give the children the opportunity to use skills for conflict resolution, to be productive with their communication so others understand and respond in better ways. They embrace all ethnicities and cultures. They love it when the family's come to the classrooms to share/teach the children about their cultures/celebrations and the children get so excited when learning about all the new cultures. Be prepared for your children to get down and dirty with science and the outdoors. They ask that you bring extra clothes because they like the children to be hands on when learning, feel the textures, smell things, hear things, look closely at the environment around them. They even get your children to try new foods at snack time allowing them to expand their pallet from the Mac n cheese or Ham sandwiches they decided were the only food group in existence lol. The school has an app also that lets you follow your child's day, what they read, songs they sang, activities they did, how long they slept at nap time, etc. Plus it has learning games and a way to communicate with the staff. I am really surprised that Work and Play School hasn't expanded, but then I guess the children wouldn't get the same experiences that a smaller more intimate setting they provide gives them, it really is like sending my children to family, if I could I would give Work and Play School a 10 STAR REVIEW!! I know I will be sending my grandchildren here...I wouldn't allow them to go anywhere else and neither would my children :)

Both of my children attended Work and Play School until they started Kindergarten. Ms. Stephanie and her staff are exceptional! The teachers are knowledgeable, caring, attentive, and personable. I loved the ease of communication between the parents and teachers; when I had a question about anything, they were certain to get back to me with an answer promptly. They have a well-rounded learning curriculum and plenty of indoor and outdoor activities. Their summer camp is fantastic; my kids never had a bad day and always came home smiling. Work and Play School is a positive, happy, healthy preschool for children to learn and grow in a safe and fun environment. I highly recommend Work and Play School, the care they give is the next best thing to home.

We feel so fortunate to be part of the Work and Play School family. It only took one initial meeting with the director and a tour of the facility and playground to know this school was something special. The staff is phenomenal with the children. They make learning fun and exciting and really strive to understand how your child learns best and how to appropriately address their needs. My daughter thrived at Work and Play due to the love and support she received. I highly recommend this preschool to families with young children.

Work and Play is the BEST preschool and school-age program in the area. As an educator, it was very important to me to find a preschool that was child-centered, taught appropriate social skills, encouraged children to be independent while play well with others and Work and Play does that and much more! From the moment I first walked in, the staff were welcoming and knowledgeable. My son instantly began playing and was comfortable in their play-centered environment. Ms. Betsy, Ms. Stephanie, and Ms. Sarah are top notch when working with children and meeting each individual child’s needs. They are supportive and keep in constant communication with parents. My son thrived in their preschool program, was completely prepared for kindergarten, and now LOVES the school age program he’s in. They offer structured play and academic times. It’s a wonderful balance while also keeping a key focus on developing well-rounded social skills. Choosing Work and Play was one of the best decisions I’ve made as a parent. My son feels loved, cared for, confident, and genuinely happy each day. As a mom, it’s the best feeling to know how well taken care of he is each day. Work and Play is AMAZING!

Our family could not love Work & Play School more. My son was enrolled in another local school and it was not the right fit, I called Stephanie with a trembling voice to explain what was happening. We toured the school, met the teachers and had our son enrolled so quickly, this was one of the best choices we have made. Work & Play School has offered my son a place to blossom and be himself. He comes out of school SO excited to show us what he created each day, talks about his friends and what they did! Our son can be hesitant with people, but with the communication, support and guidance from the staff, he is thriving. The staff is invaluable and we are very, very thankful.
