The director is helpful, organized and personable. Her response time on any questions, comments or concerns are addressed in a timely fashion. She makes my family and I feel heard, safe and informed. We are extremely happy with her and all of her staff. We will always recommend our friends and family to this location. Great staff, clean environment and my child is well cared for.
Avenel Learning Center has been great. The director is professional, caring, and keeps everything running smoothly. The lead teacher is patient, engaging, and truly amazing with the kids. The center is clean, welcoming, and well-organized. I always feel confident knowing the children are in good hands. Highly recommend!
I am extremely disappointed with this after care program. Communication is poor, organization is lacking, and there is very little effort to work collaboratively with parents. My son has ADHD, and instead of working with us to support him and help ensure he was meeting expectations, the director chose to handle the situation in the worst possible way. Without any meaningful discussion or attempt to create a plan, she simply wrote him up and informed us that he was being removed from the program at 6:00 p.m. on a Friday, right before a holiday. This was incredibly insensitive, unprofessional, and stressful for our family. The director is consistently rude, nasty, and unapproachable. Concerns are not handled with empathy or professionalism, and her attitude creates a hostile environment rather than a supportive one. There is a clear lack of understanding and accommodation for children who may need additional support. For a program that is supposed to provide dependable after-school care, this experience was unacceptable. I would not recommend this program to any parent, especially those with children who have special needs or require understanding and cooperation.
I am so happy that I came across The Avenel Learning Center. Aiden was a last minute transfer from a private daycare center back in May, and it was the best thing I did. Ms. Cynthia is amazing with the kids always taking tons of pics and videos of the kids, making you feel like you are there too. These centers are a must have for our children and there should not be even a thought on closing any of them.
My son was in Avenel Early Learning Center from 2023 - 2025 Pre K 3 & Pre K 4 at first I was not very happy with the environment Mr. Kyle had back in 2023 it was more like a babysitting program, then Ms Marcia Ramos came. She made us download the app Remini she started sending home worksheets, class projects, she even went as far as setting up a food program for the children, but the other parents didn't want to be bothered. Ms Marcia has turned around the YMCA for the better she is very involved with the children and they're development skills .She definitely needs to be appreciated more with all her hard work .
