There are better accommodations in JAIL. I stayed one night as a domestic violence victim. One large overcrowded room packed with women snoring, coughing, moaning in pain all night. You're given a barely 2 inch hard gym mat to lay on the concrete floor, no blanket. I bunched up my coat to use as a pillow, and luckily had an extra to use as a blanket. At 6 AM a lady comes in screaming for everyone to wake up, at which point youve got about an hour to remain in the shelter. You'll wait in a long line to use the most disgusting moldy bathroom. You get one tiny bowl of cereal. They do not allow you to be in the shelter from 8am- 5pm AT ALL. They also dont have a place to store your belongings while you are out. I walked out into the cold with my two heavy duffle bags (everything I owned) having no clue where to go during the daytime. It was so bad, I ended up returning to my abuser.

They should change the name to Wheeler mission woman children and Cross dressing men. Although God knows that I was grateful for a place to stay dealing with some staff doing anything in their power to try and make my life miserable already going through homelessness was dreading. I now know that when the time comes for me to open up a shelter that no matter how busy my life gets to come and check on it to make sure the employees are doing right and representing my business name. Just because people are homeless and need a place to stay doesn't mean that should be treated any type of way, manipulated, judged by the way they look, favoritism and more. Thank you

Thank u wheeler missionary for helping me and my children with beds food and most importantly helping encourage me I appreciate all that they do. Lords mercy of kindness comes out of people with a heart to help and I thank the Lord for his guidance he do great things we may not know he’s there with us every step u just have to have faith and believe he brought me and my children from a car to here things happen unrepentantly we never know bills pile up medical bills paying for certain medication and things happen u get behind on rent not knowing the consequences behind it until it u that facing a hard time of nowhere to go anymore but The Lords Love guide us to have a roof over our heads again THATS LOVE. Thank u again wheeler shelter for women and children workers u guys are the best God is Blessing each and every last one of u.

This place is not for children, fungus bathrooms, 7am breakfast to wait until 12 for lunch without a snack so that the children eat something when they get hungry later at 5 dinner also without a snack, you can't buy or bring anything to eat , the staff some unfriendly others very friendly, but nobody helps at all...

I called for emergency shelter and the African American woman who answered was rude. I believe if you don’t like working with people and wanting to help you should find a job you like. I called and didn’t receive help not even a next choice I could make just an “call back Monday” phone etiquette sucks and so does the customer service and empathy for people who are obviously facing life problems .
