I began going to this church in 1974 as a 8 year old. We attended this church until 2004. We were there when James Singleton increased the congregation three fold. Then Daniel White took the congregation over and the congregation size plummeted. We moved to Florida but came back every winter for the Christmas Jazz service. December 2023 , Daniel White chose to add the George Floyd storyline into the storyline of Christ’s birth. Since I had been a long time member of this church for 49 years I decided to go up to him after the service. I said, “ Daniel you ruined a perfect story of Christ’s birth by preaching to us about George Floyd. “ his response was, “ Lisa, you don’t worship here anymore. “ A pastor that tells someone they don’t worship here is just terrible. Shame on you Daniel White!
Attended this church for about a year and they rapidly have made changes for the worse IMO. They're now very political.
Sr. Pastor very knowledgeable and gives great challenging Biblical services. Both associate Pastors are wonderful. Beautiful Church and Quall Hall is terrific multi purpose room. Good coffee and food included. Good Church!!
We went to a Christmas Eve jazz sermon here. The sermon ended up going very left wing. Instead of talking about Jesus and the reason we celebrate Christmas, it took a political turn. We will never return to this church again. It's very sad that after many years attending with our friends at this church, the pastor decided to take a political stance. Shame on you!
I grew up in this community. These are my people. I went away to college and still came back. They have an amazing children's ministry. The sermon series are interesting and relevant.
