What Parents Say
These reviews appear to be for Westridge Community Center, a recreational facility, not a preschool daycare. Parents praise the clean, well-maintained facilities with multiple amenities including pools, gym equipment, batting cages, and sports fields. Staff receives consistent recognition for being friendly, helpful, and going above and beyond for patrons.
Two-star is because of the quality of pre-school teachers in the facility. They are burnt out. They don't have any emotional room for kids' even age-appropriate, not ill-intended oppositions. They constantly send messages to the parents complaining about kids age-appropriate behaviors. I don't think the teachers are well qualified or compensated. They complain about kids behavior before trying to understand where it is coming from. Teachers pressure the director to send kids home for things that are not listed in the policy. They apply written policies very vaguely. My kid was sent home in the middle of the day for unexplainable reasons, overriding the policy. I was fed up with constant complaints from the teachers and I had to switch my kid from here to the TLE nearby and my kid is thriving there without any issue. As a parent, I am finally stress free during the day. My kid is showing 360 degrees different behavior he shows after coming home. Please spend some more bucks to send your kid elsewhere. Not gave 1 star because we at least liked the warmth of director Tammy.
Love the turf fields here. Great fun for family play when not in use by a team. Pool, weights, machines, track, and the facility in general are fantastic. Love this pool outside for the younger kids. Easy access on the west side and a short drive from the East.
Love the Westridge pool to bring young swimmers. It has a shallow entrance and is only 3 feet deep in the main area outside. There are plenty of chairs and tables as well as grassy areas with shade. It has water slides and a splash pad. There is a vending machine in the bathroom area.
Proud to say that the gym here has helped me lose a lot of weight over 18 years of me going here!
Angels work here! My family and I went to several rec centers to take our two children ages 8 and 10 to swim to beat the summer heat and to take a shower as we were dirty from camping. We were turned away by 4 other centers that had policies that wouldn't allow us to buy a day pass unless we were members. We were about to give up when we came across this Highlands Ranch rec center. We decided we would try this last place and if it didn't work out then we would just go back to our camp site. When we went in we were treated very nicely, but they told that we had to live in Highlands Ranch to access the center. Luckily we live in Highlands Ranch and I had my driver's licenses to prove it. They front desk person, Ms. Charlotte, looked at my ID, but said that because we live in an apartment we technically could not use the center. We explained our situation and that we had been turned away by the other centers due to membership rules. We thanked her for her time and were in the process of turning around to leave. Without hesitation she stopped us from leaving and graciously added all of us under her personal membership guest pass and allowed us to use the center and pay for the day pass for our family. As a result our family was able to swim, shower, and have a wonderful day! We are so grateful for Ms. Charlotte's kindness and compassion. Thank you Ms. Charlotte for transforming our stressful day into a wonderful afternoon. Come to this rec center! It is very clean, has several amenities suitable for kids and adults, and most of all the most compassionate staff I have ever encountered! If I could give this place a rating higher that 5 stars I would in a heartbeat!
