What Parents Say
West End Day Care Center receives overwhelmingly positive feedback from parents, with 9 five-star reviews praising the caring staff, Texas Rising Star 4-star rating, affordable pricing, and educational curriculum. One negative review cited poor staff attention, inadequate diaper changes, and lack of emotional connection during the reviewer's daughter's enrollment.
This daycare will truly be missed. My son really enjoyed his time at Westend. His teachers are kind and patient. Brittany the director is always professional easy to contact and reach for any concerns. They send me pictures of him learning and playing daily. He comes home singing all kinds of learning songs (so cute) they take the kids out to there beautifully remodeled playground daily my son is always exhausted after daycare just like I like it lol great food cooked daily! I definitely recommend.
I cannot speak more highly of this daycare. I’ve been bringing my daughter here for over 3 years. This facility is one of the rare places with a Texas Rising Star rating of 4 out of 4. In other words, they are the top for quality early childhood services. The staff and teachers are kind, knowledgeable, and attentive. And, their staff retention is impressive - most of the teachers have been there as long as we have or longer. They are very affordable (because they are subsidized by the city). They provide breakfast, lunch, and snack every day. As a baby, my daughter never came home with a diaper rash, and as a preschooler she now receives daily lessons using state approved curriculum, with an emphasis on hands on experiences. All this to say, if you want video feeds, daily/weekly reports, fancy toys, or autopay, this is NOT place for you. West End is low tech and definitely not fancy (although they did just get an app this week), but for us, the quality and care we receive far outweighs any of the bells and whistles of other places.
I am so I dissatisfied with this organization, the only reason I gave this daycare a chance was because they were the only place within my budget and close to our home after our move from San Antonio. Needless to say you get what you pay for. It was my daughters first time ever attending a daycare and every time I dropped her off she cried, on many occasions when I picked her up she was still crying. I do believe the staff do not connect with the children and are simply there for a paycheck. I’m sorry, but when you are caring for children there is more to it. Also, the whole month my daughter attended the facility I only had to buy her 1 pack (of 12) pull- ups and we still brought home most of them. They weren’t changing her, there was a time I picked her up and by the time I got home her car seat and pants were wet from it leaking out of her pull up. On the last incident (her last day, my last straw) I checked her when I got to the car and had to change her pull up in the parking lot of the daycare bc she was so soaked. This was a horrible experience and was everything I was worried about. I tried to form relationships with the staff and there was always different teachers in my daughters room no one cared to make conversation. I do not recommend this place to anyone unless your child can talk. Now I’m pleased to say my daughter now attends another daycare and she/we love it!
If I could give a negative star I would. Management has no regard for the stability of the children and they are extraordinarily unorganized, unprofessional and unethical. If your children are important to you, this is not the daycare for you. My child attended this daycare since he was 8 months and when Ms. Pat was the director I had no problems. Then management began terminating teachers and making changes with profound effects on our children without communicating to parents. I called corporate to complain and the CEO Juanita Harang hung up in my face. She won't ever have to worry about me, my child or my money again. They need to shut this place down. Wonderful teachers, horrible management, incompetent board of directors. I've found a different daycare for my child after 3 years.
My daughter has been going for over a year since she was 7 months old. We love that her care providers and loving, interested in her developmental growth. The new director has made a positive difference in the environment. My daughter continues to share new vocabulary growth and her joy and love for the world is celebrated here.
