I’ve been taking personal training sessions with Jared Bradshaw. Jared is a great personal trainer who shows you the correct form/technique when completing each exercise to prevent injury and target the correct muscle. He is also great with introducing progressive overload each week. I’ve increased the amount of weight that I’m able to do when bench pressing and doing RDL’s. I recommend personal training with Jared especially for knowledge on how to perform exercises correctly.

Overall this is a very nice YMCA and gym. Cant say enough about the facility, equipment. And community involvement. That is why I hate to write this part of the review. Something has to be done about the men’s locker room, saunas and shower area. It is quite disgusting and rarely gets cleaned. Standing water and the same trash in the dry sauna is there for days. Same piece of gum has been in the black mats in the shower stall for weeks. This means the mats are not removed and cleaned. In public areas I see staff cleaning and members wiping down equipment after each use. But the men locker room is awful!

I work out here 5 days a week and there is an overwhelming amount of people that crowd the gym during peak hours. Saturdays and Sundays are usually brutal as well as weekdays after about 4 pm during the colder months. I would recommend coming very early in the morning on the weekdays. Beach season is upon us and that seems to be thinning out the regular crowd though. The locker rooms are sad, as well as the shower facilities. The hand scanner is broken at the moment. I've been to Jacksonville, FL and Sumpter, SC YMCAs over the last three weeks and both facilities were much more updated than the Y both here in Pooler and Rincon. These just seem to be extremely old facilities. There is also no keychain tag access here. On the upside, the staff and trainers are great, the other gym goers are cool for the most part, the classes are great and extremely popular(so pre-register), there are clean towels to use, and lemon/cucumber water to drink. They have military and family rates. Overall, for the price and access to other YMCAs while travelling (using the Nationwide Plan), it's worth it!

I was invited to the YMCA by a member while at the Savannah Cultural Festival. This amazing woman and her husband are active in their community and wonderful to speak with. I was impressed of their involvement and their fitness level. I was invited to participate in an event to present my integrative nutrition business Gurtsyllc. I frequent 1-3 locations depending on my schedule but busy with 2 GSD’s which require outdoor walks sometimes twice a day. The front desk is always very pleasant and helpful at each location saying hello to all who come and go and answer any questions. The members are always focused on their workout and some have time to speak just a moment which makes it a friendly place. I haven’t attended many other events but I have been invited. The facilities at Pooler look new or the renovation and lobby looks beautiful. The egym equipment is state of the art and I have gotten recommendations about its potential results from a gym owner at the holistic chamber in Bluffton/HH. The gym seems to have a great business at all locations but never wait or wait more than a couple of minutes on equipment. Overall I give the YMCA’s I frequent an 5 star. Everyone is pleasant and seemingly appreciates their community gym. Happy to be a part of the YMCA.Thank you! Played the disc golf course on the property of the YMCA . Nice course, a bit in need of tee box signs but one you play through once you can know the lay of the course. For hole 12 you need to walk across the street and towards the YMCA building to the left. Enjoy.
