Welbourne Avenue Nursery & Kindergarten

In 1927, the Welbourne Nursery and Preschool, formally the Winter Park Day Nursery Association for Colored Children, was established. The school has continued to serve working families from the Hannibal Square neighborhood and surrounding communities with affordable, quality childcare as well as early educational services. Mrs. Clarence Vincent and Mrs. Charles Browne played a pivotal role in the establishment of the school. They were prominent philanthropists and community leaders who recognized the need for affordable, safe childcare and early education. Their support and funding were crucial in funding the nursery in the early years. Mrs. Rachel Lester, an R.N., was the first director of the school followed by Mrs. Beatrice Richardson, also an R.N. Community support and volunteer efforts have created and fostered a lasting institution that continues to serve the community to this day. Operating as a charitable 501(c)(3), Welbourne is now an A+ school featuring an innovative, learn - by - doing curriculum serving up to 64 children from 6 weeks old through 4 years of age.

I cannot say enough good things about Welbourne! If you're looking for a daycare that allows your child not only to be well cared for and loved but to be cherished and nurtured (physically and intellectually), then look no further! We love it here! We toured several daycares in the area before choosing to send our child here. Ms. Jasmine, Ms. Michelle, Ms. Casandra, and Ms. Latonya will treat your child like their own. Your child will learn, feel loved, and have fun. You can tell that all of the children in all of the classes enjoy coming to school every day and I think that speaks volumes about how their environment makes them feel! If you're having a hard time deciding where to send your child to daycare, I would not hesitate in joining our Welbourne family :)

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Welbourne Nursery has been an absolute blessing for our family! My son has been attending since he was 6 months old, and now at 2 years old, they have truly become part of our tribe. The entire staff is amazing—so loving, patient, and dedicated. I don’t know what I would do without them! Every day, my son is excited to go to school, see his teachers, and play with his friends. The nurturing and educational environment has helped him thrive, and I’m constantly amazed at how much he’s learning and excelling. I couldn’t recommend Welbourne Nursery more!

OK, hello what can I say about Wellborn? This is the best place for children. Please have your children. Please have your children to come. Here is the best place that I have ever seen. Children are well cared for children are given the chance to advance their structure there is community, and there is plenty of love. The teachers are very good. They work with your child and enable them to be the person that they are the kindness and the ability to reach out and find out about the person that they are. To me this place is a godsend and something that I will never take for granite. Thank you.

We are so happy that we chose Welbourne as our daycare option. We looked at many other places in the area, but in the end couldn't beat the capabilities and comfort this place provides. The teachers are incredible, so caring and flexible. The staff are delightful across the board. Everyone greets you as you enter and as you leave. Just such a happy place.
