What Parents Say
This facility is primarily reviewed as a YMCA gym rather than a daycare center. Parents praise the friendly staff, quality amenities including an Olympic pool and family changing rooms, and childcare services available during workouts. The main concerns relate to crowding during peak times and restrictive pool hours.
The gym is alright, it’s pretty small. In my honest opinion given how much you have to pay per month you’re better off at LA fitness. Also if you ever wanna bring a guest, first time free, after that they pay 25 dollars EACH visit. I forgot to add, there is a staff member here that I know for a fact would speak poorly on my brother, making assumptions and referring to him as an “insecure guy.”
Hello everyone I have reviewed this place before and this time I would like to take a moment to recognize Fernando, a 19-year-old employee at the YMCA Weingart Center in Boyle Heights, for the outstanding presence he brings to the gym every day. Fernando is genuinely one of the most chill and approachable people you’ll meet—cool without trying, professional without being stiff. He treats everyone with respect and kindness, creating an environment where people feel comfortable, welcomed, and motivated. What truly sets Fernando apart is how helpful he is. Whether you need guidance, encouragement, or just someone to point you in the right direction, he’s always willing to help in any way he can. He offers great moral support, lifts people up on tough days, and somehow manages to make the gym feel less intimidating and more like a community space. That kind of attitude can’t be taught—it comes from genuine character. I’m truly grateful that Fernando is an employee at the YMCA Weingart in Boyle Heights. He doesn’t just work at the gym; he contributes to the community within it. The YMCA is better because of him, and so are the people who walk through its doors. Ands Thanks to all the wonderful employee that make our community better
I have a spinal cord injury paralyzed from the chest down and I was using the facility for aquatic therapy since I was getting movement back in my legs. I went for a few months on Saturday mornings with my family and friend that happens to have some knowledge in Nero recovery. The first few months were amazing the lifeguards everyone was welcoming. A few weeks ago they began to single us out harass us and discriminated against us for using the pool. We sing a waiver releasing them from all responsibility and nowhere in their guides and rules does it state that I can have a friend help me out while I use the pool. We have not solicited other people we do not disrupt other people and we follow all the pool guidelines. We been to other YMCA since and they don’t have a problem like they do in this location. As a disabled person we have to fight against discrimination. There supposed to be an establishment for the community doesn’t seem that way.
Great venue n wanting to help the community
Do not become a member in this location, when you want to cancel membership it is not true that they cancel the membership. They have been charging my credit card for 6 months. I've been there several times and they don't fix anything for me. Send an email to such a place.. No one answers, no one knows. I'm already looking for a civil lawsuit against them
