What Parents Say
This appears to be reviews for a community college, not a daycare center. The listing may be incorrectly categorized. Reviews praise the institution's friendly staff, modern facilities, affordable tuition, and quality instruction, though some note inconsistencies in online course support and advising.
Invited to organize and run a four hour workshop under the WCCC PSC in the SAC on a Saturday. Had fun and gained knowledge while imparting knowledge. Clean and aesthetic campus. Returned the next day to attend a hazmat prop workshop and close out the conference. Easy to find and easy to park, etc....not many places to get good food in Youngblood, Pa.
Absolutely love this community college!!! Moved here from Va two years ago and started going to wccc last semester…I can’t explain how thankful I am to have the opportunity to go there! (I also went to community college in Va and it wasn’t nearly as nice as this campus) From the advisors, to the professors…to the gentleman that work at the technology desk…everyone is so friendly and helpful! The student achievement center has been renovated and although I don’t know what it looked like before, I think it looks amazing! I go there to study A LOT since it’s hard to focus at home sometimes and if it wasn’t for that center, I probably wouldn’t have passed my classes last semester. They have great amenities like a Starbucks, free printing for students and a pantry for students to get snacks when they need a mental boost/break. And did I mention there is FREE PARKING? My old community college didn’t offer nearly as many amenities and had us pay for parking 🙄 I think the only thing that it’s missing a daycare which I desperately wish they would bring back as I feel it would give a lot more single moms the opportunity to go back to school and get a degree doing something they love! Would also help set a good example for their kids!!! Any way. Very grateful for this place. Thank you all for everything you do!
When I started going to school here, it was fantastic. Then slowly but surely, their focus shifted from student-oriented to money-oriented. I was one of the new student orientation leaders in 2015, which was an awesome experience, but when I did it again in 2016, they made it all about staff and not the students. I scratched my head wondering why I was there. Another time, I went into the offices in need of some kind of service and was told that because it was after 2p, I'd have to come back another day. I explained that my schedule didn't allow me to come by any earlier. They proceeded to tell me that I'd have to make a special trip on one of my days off. In the beginning, they were super accommodating of students, but later, made the students be accommodating of them. I graduated some time ago, and don't get made wrong I had some great times here, especially in my first couple years. However, how much they changed towards the end of my time there is something that I can't overlook.
So far I have enjoyed my experience with WCCC overall. As with any school there are a few issues. My main issue includes my adviser being uninvolved with helping me schedule classes. As well as the fact that not all advisers are on the same page with online classes and making assignments known. Otherwise, the staff is friendly and helpful and the school is constantly having some sort of program or activity to promote student involvement and informing students.
Truly, I really do like this school. I think it is a good place to begin the college life, and get your needed core classes before spending a ton of money on a four year university. At least here, you can get what you need and meanwhile you can decide on your official career. I like the faculty and most people on campus are friendly and easy to work with.
