This learning learning provides excellent educational services with a warm and nurturing environment. The teachers and staff are loving, patient, and truly dedicated to the children’s growth and development. Their programs are well-structured, engaging, and offered at a very reasonable price. My daughter loves whenever she go to school. Overall, it’s a wonderful place where children feel supported, valued, and excited to learn.
My daughter has been attending water Lilly in OTR since she was about 12-14 months old. She is now 3 1/2 and thriving!!! She is patient, kind, caring, and has amazing manners. She learned to play patiently with others as well as independently. She has known her ABC’s and colors for about a year and now now can even count to 20! Even can associate letters to names and write some! The teachers here love their kids and I’m happy to have picked this daycare. I suggest it to anyone who asks
The building at Waterlily Avondale is beautiful, and that is clearly its main selling point. Unfortunately, the appearance does not reflect the quality of care or operations. The facility has been consistently unreliable. My child has had a new teacher every other month, which signals an inability to retain staff. This constant turnover has been frustrating for our family and disruptive to our child’s sense of stability. Nearly every week there seems to be a new employee in the classroom. Communication and leadership are also major concerns. When issues arise and I need to speak with the Director, the Director is rarely available. Seeing the Director feels nearly impossible—about once a month at best. The closure schedule is another serious problem. When a holiday falls on a Monday, the daycare closes the Friday before for “professional development,” resulting in a four-day closure. This happens every time a Monday holiday occurs. Families are expected to absorb this burden repeatedly. Most recently, school was already scheduled to be closed Monday for Martin Luther King Jr. Day. As expected, Friday, January 16 was also taken off for professional development. Then, at 9:00 PM on Tuesday, January 13, families were notified that the facility would also be closed Wednesday, January 14 due to heating issues. This last-minute notice left families scrambling. While Waterlily Avondale looks good, it is not dependable. For working families who need consistent, reliable childcare, this is not a facility I can recommend.
This daycare was not supportive or understanding of my 1-year-old’s adjustment. My baby had never been in a daycare setting before, yet was singled out every day for three days. Only one day was a full 5-hour day, but I was called in for a meeting every single day over normal baby behavior. While the place looks friendly, the owner was passive-aggressive and very judgmental toward me as a first-time mother. Instead of offering patience or support, I felt criticized and pressured to allow preventable situations where my baby could fall. A daycare should support both children and parents—especially during transitions. Unfortunately, this experience was stressful and disappointing. Everything felt like a burden
