DO NOT BRING TAKE YOUR CHILDREN HERE! I had an excellent first impression and my son has been here about four times. The is review is based off the last two times he attended for 4 hours each. My conclusion is people always interview well when they know they’ll need your trust later. A little girl dug her nails into my son’s face leaving deep and bloody scratches on his right cheek. The staff acted very concerned and assured me the situation would be handled. My question was Where were they and why didn’t they handle the escalation because unless that child already shows significant behavioral problems, that type of thing doesn’t happen that quickly. Either case they’re being paid to keep the children safe. The second time my son came home with a bruise right under his right eye and the staff claimed “ran into the corner of the shelf” and they “forgot to write an incident report.” I wasn’t able to speak to the manager because as I was learning about my son’s injury, a woman from Childcare Licensing walked in and asked to speak to the manager privately. The childcare workers also don’t seem to take any pride in looking professional at all. I recognize that working with small children is inherently full of baby spit and the like but self respect is something people who work hard usually have. I trusted them and I wish I hadn’t. I will definitely be reporting them. They try to get you to buy a package to lock in your money since no one stays if they actually care about the level of care their child is getting or give you a “courtesy call” when you’re child is injured to give you the impression they are excellent communicators but don’t fall for it.
Update July 2018: I would still give this place 5 stars. My daughter is almost 5 and still loves coming here. She recently got to go with her 1 year old brother, and was elated. The staff was very friendly and knowledgeable about procedures for older infants/younger toddlers, as I had never dropped my daughter off when she was as young as my son is now. My son came back to me in a dry diaper, and the only reason he was upset was because he had to stop playing with a toy. Great communication about my son's day and a report was provided for me at pick. Love the staff and love that both my kids enjoy going! My daughter (3) really loves going here! Staff always friendly and caring. You know they treat your kid well when she keeps asking (sometimes practically begging) when she gets to go back.
I can't speak to the issues raised in some of the other reviews, but we truly have not had that experience at all. We have always encountered very friendly, sweet staff- and our two boys Townes and Owen absolutely love going here. It's a treat for them- and we use it get them to behave so they will be "allowed" to go. Chris has helped us many times along with a few other sweet gals. I have never seen an odd mark on either of my kids, nor have they ever said anything bad happened- and they would definitely say something if so. I hope this location sticks around!
We have been taking our daughter to the Wanna Play in Round Rock since we moved to Texas over a year ago. She was just over 2 at the time and we didn't know how she'd do with "strangers" because she generally only stayed with family. Well, she loved it! We felt it was a clean and safe facility with a great staff. She has been going there ever since and she's always excited to go to, what she calls, "the play place!" She loves the staff and playing with all the children. She feels it's a special treat when she gets to eat dinner with everyone and she's especially happy when it's pizza night! We would certainly recommend Wanna Play to others looking for drop-in childcare or childcare on a regular basis. It's great!
We used to like taking kids here, however lately the quality of cate seems to have decreased. My 5 year old came home today saying how embarrassed he was because one of the staff announced in front of all the kids that he had pooped his pants. We had been called and were on our way to pick him up, but they should have respected his privacy and been more considerate of his feelings. Not cool. We will not be going back.
