Wall Methodist Child Care Center

It’s family tradition to get married in this church. My husband and I were 3rd maybe 4th generation to get married there. I don’t know pastor Sunny and wanted to get married by someone who we knew and had a connection with. She agreed to us using a different pastor and told me that she will pass along any information to the pastor we were using. She did not pass along information for our rehearsal and he didn’t know about the rehearsal until the night before. When my dad, who is a member of the church, went to pay for the services, she was very rude and made my dad feel unwelcome. It’s very uncommon for my dad to feel unwelcome anywhere. Her exact quotes were “we are not in the business of renting out churches” and when my dad explained the legacy this church has in my family and explained that he is a member of this church. She then said to him “I’ve been a pastor of this church for 12 years and have never seen you before” (we live in Jackson and attended JUMC while growing up and my mom still attends there) As well as in the packet we got stated that for the exit we can’t use bird seed or rice. Understandable. So my husband and I decided that we wanted to use rose petals and went to clear it with them, we were then informed that we are only allowed to use bubbles. Which should really be put in the packet. You would think it would be an honor to have a whole family want to get married on you church but instead we were met with unwelcomeness. You would also think that if someone is paying almost $1k to use your church you would be a little nicer. I came up all the way from NC to get married there, but If I were to move back to NJ I would not attend this church. Just from this experience alone

A very nice church. Under the circumstances of our visit there they were very accommodating.
