I owe all of who i am today to this place. I was not only homeless but depressed and very insecure. I was in the program 6 1/2 years until my second son aged out. I completed nursing school, got married and had two additional children whom i wish i could put in the program lol. I loved my counselors and all the teachers my children had…… i keep in touch with my case worker to this day! Holidays and birthdays were always special and remembered. Your children will be SAFE, looked out for and families are extended help and support. Job search, help with clothes food supplies i even had my apartment furnished. The list is long ! I love you guys and miss coming in every morning and afternoon 💕 Josiah and Noah’s mom.

My son was hurt ,no one told me! I unenrolled my son after a short 2 weeks . When I first enrolled him he was a little hesitant to stay because it's a new environment which is normal. He got used to it, it became easier to leave him. However the last 3 times I tried to leave him he refused to go inside. As soon as we got to the door he would scream cry hit and pull away with all his strength telling me he’s scared. At first I thought he just missed me, it became clear something happened. I saw scratch marks on him. Recently he told me while he was in school a kid kept "hitting me in the face" I was shocked. I asked him for clarification was it a small kid or a big adult. He said kid. I asked him where was the teacher he said "in the room" I said did you tell the teacher he said yes I asked did the kid get in trouble he said "no" I asked him what did the teacher do he said "she walked out the room" I was livid ! No one told me anything! My child went through that without being comforted , without the other kid having any sort of redirection. This made me especially mad because they pride themselves on "regulating emotions" I knew something occurred but couldn't prove it. A few days before I pulled him out an incident happened where I saw a teachers aid being rough with another kid. She had became irritated because she couldnt finish her food due to my kid and another boy fighting over a toy. She picked the other kid up roughly by his arms & put him on a cot. Begin yelling at the other kids repeatedly while aggressively moving her neck as if she was arguing with an adult on the street. When I brought this concern up my case worker & the woman in charge of handling these incidents had a meeting with me and told me the teacher “did nothing wrong” They were nonchalant & cold. They kept telling me they couldnt "show me the footage" but I didn't ask to see the footage of that specific incident, I saw her mistreating him with my own two eyes .I did however, want to see footage of how she was with MY kid due to him saying he was scared of her. They wouldn't budge. I know she did something they were hiding it! The same day when I went to pick up my kid the same teachers aid stopped to talk to me about how she helped my kid nap. After she walked away my son said he was "scared of the spider" (her braids reminded him of a spider ) He was scared to speak when she was in front of us & waited until she left. He was silent & clung to me. She did something to him & karma will get her 10xs worse! I told them about his reaction in the meeting they brushed it off. The woman in charge said the teachers aid wasn't in there at nap time ,they have “no idea which teachers aid are with the kids at all times” Yet she told me HERSELF she was. Something obviously occurred & they covered it up by not showing me the footage. Also ,one day when I was picking up my kid he ran to me crying and told me he hurt his finger.there was a cut and dried blood His teacher said it “ just happened " but the blood was dried so it obviosuly didnt JUST she wouldn't tell me what caused it. They made it seem like i was welcomed at anytime but when I wanted to stay a little to observe him from the outside through the window my case worker , teachers made little comments like "well I'm sure you have somewhere to go" "ok you can close door" in order to rush me to leave him. What’s the rush?you guys said I can stay & observe but when i try i get rude stares, comments. They don't like kids & lack patience but play nice at first. My son told me he was repeatedly hit IN THE FACE and NO ONE TOLD ME! It had been a month before I even knew only because my kid told me. None of this should have happened. Everyday after school he told me his teachers were mean to him! I had reservations about putting my kid in daycare and it took alot for me to trust strangers with my child. CHECK YOUR KIDS BODY EVERYDAY!TAKE PICTURES!ASK QUESTIONS!PAY ATTENTION TO HOW THEY REACT WITH THE ADULTS AROUND THEM! TRUST YOUR GUT & YOUR CHILD!

This place is definitely in existence and is AMAZING! My personal experience here has been as a child who was once homeless (at their old location) and an employee for a couple of years. The teachers that work here are INCREDIBLE. They are truly only working at Vogel because they love what they do and the children that they are able to love on and teach. I am so blessed and grateful that this place exists. Without Vogel Alcove, I wouldn't be who I am today.
