This was an incredibly open and loving place. The people who run the space have such attention to detail and really care about the kids. My kid went for a year and we stayed through summer camp. There was never a time where she complained about the place, she was happy to go every day! We moved and that is the only reason why we still aren't there! Wonderful place!
I had a really bad experience here. My son did not at all seem welcome to this schooling environment. The teacher passively sits back and observes the children and gently provides direction when needed. I however had a baby attached to my front in a backback and my toddler just so happens to have A LOT of energy. Instead of working with this energy and acknowledging this being a unique quality to my son, I got a call that he would no longer be enrolled in the program and was not a good fit for this school. Other parents were very two-faced and pretended to be supportive of our situation but behind my back they expressed concerns about my son instead of dealing with me directly. My "reimbursement" after only 3 sessions was short almost $150 because of a deposit held for his spot. I understood that I could loose that money but I also realize it is up to the discretion of the owner of the preschool who was less than accommodating. Overall, a very pretentious school with even more pretentious parents. Do not recommend. Many other local family owned preschools in Sellwood with much more heart in their program.
This is a great place for children. Our daughter spent two years with Miss Jodi at Violet Garden and absolutely thrived. A magical preschool education.
