I’ve had the intention of writing a review for some time now (my kid just transitioned to public school TK in August) but it’s very hard to put in words how special LiMai was to me and my family. Our kiddo had a hard time transitioning (he started at age 2) however the teachers were super supportive and kind to all three of us. We stayed 2 years at LiMai and I will definitely be returning if we are blessed with another baby. Our kiddo went from us thinking he had a delay with speech to being a chatterbox in one month! When he transitioned to the older kid class, his teachers were also phenomenal here! Ms. Dianna and Ms. Rehka are so kind and treat every kid like their own. My kiddo looked forward to going to school because he felt so comfortable in his class. Overall, LiMai is a great investment, for many reasons. I always felt safety and our children’s privacy was the upmost importance. I also felt like there was huge difference in our child’s academic ability compared to other kids his age and also noticed how he began picking up healthy habits such as wanting to be more involved and helpful at home. Definitely a very great way to build some important foundational skills.
When our little daughter first started school, she was very reluctant and cried a lot. We are very grateful to the school for providing us with methods that helped her naturally walk into the classroom. We also deeply appreciate the patience and gentle guidance of the teacher and assistant, who helped our somewhat stubborn little girl feel deeply loved and smoothly adapt to the new environment. She has learned many new things and has become braver and more confident. As parents, we sincerely feel grateful and reassured.
Enrolled our daughter here in March based off of the really good reviews but unfortunately, this place just didn't work out for us so we had to pull her out. Here's a list as to why: 1. Teachers/teacher assistant consistently absent/late/out of the country. Our daughter kept being placed into unfamiliar classrooms with unfamiliar teachers/staff. This was a huge stressor as my daughter was trying to adapt to an already new environment. 2. My daughter wasn't napping well or eating well here. She came home so hungry and so fussy and was just always in a horrible mood. We realized her behavior started to change and when we spoke with her teacher it made sense as to why she was acting the way she was. If you pay for the food, it's Chinese takeout and it's always Little Cesar's pizza on Friday (not the healthiest imo). 3. If your child is still in diapers/pull-ups, they change them while the kid is standing up. They claim that this is the most sanitary way, but our daughter came home most times with poop debris still in her privates or on the pull-up. 4. This place is just a little too structured for a two year-old or toddler in general. We had a parent teacher conference and a lot of what the teacher wanted to bring to our attention were very normal toddler behaviors such as getting up from the chair during snack and lunchtime. 5. Our daughter was sick every single day since her first day in March. I know getting sick at daycare or in school happens but I also don't think it's normal to have a runny nose or a cough every single day. Makes me wonder how well things are being sanitized but more importantly how often they are practicing some simple handwashing. This place gave us a bad feeling and I'm so glad that we took our daughter out. She eats extremely well. She naps extremely well. Her mood and behavior has improved significantly. Just a mom sharing our experience.
We have been with Village Montessori Academy, now known as LiMai Montessori Academy, for nine years. Our elder daughter started school at 2.5 years old, and within six months, we noticed a remarkable improvement in her concentration—she could play independently for over an hour. She also became highly independent and dedicated to her work. Seeing the benefits of the Montessori methodology, we enrolled our younger daughter at age five after the COVID-19 pandemic. She, too, developed independence and critical thinking skills. Both girls love their instructors and feel genuinely cared for at school. We highly recommend this school, as the Montessori approach allows children to explore their interests without limitations, encouraging them to dive as deep as they wish into their learning.
Highly Recommend Limai Montessori Academy! My son has been attending Limai Montessori Academy since he was 3 years old, and he stayed until he completed first grade at the age of 7. During these years, he had an incredibly joyful and fulfilling time. Even after transitioning to a public elementary school, he often asks me to take him back to visit his former teachers, which truly shows how much he loves this school! This is a well-organized and disciplined school where the teachers are full of love and genuinely care about each child’s growth and needs. Whenever any issue arises at school, the teachers always communicate with us promptly. Limai Montessori Academy follows the authentic Montessori teaching method, encouraging hands-on learning, critical thinking, and personalized guidance based on each child’s strengths. Whether in academics or character development, this school helps children become the best version of themselves. I highly recommend it to everyone!
