The teachers are nice and most genuinely care for the children. Turnover can be a bit of an issue as the teachers leave to find other jobs with better pay. The worst part may be the inflexibility of the office staff. They close too early and then charge you for fifteen minutes extra if you are one minute late. If it happens 3 times your kid gets kicked out, with no time to find another daycare. This policy has to change.
The organization of the place is below average. The bar codes they stick onto the kids foreheads fall off easily and the kids play with them as stickers. I've had it happen a few times where I get someone else's kid back. Its ok though because every 4th or 5th visit you get yours again. The food at the place is good and they refill the slop buckets weekly. There are plenty of activities for the kids like cliff jumping, coal mining, cutting trees, pouring cement and manning call centers. The staff are friendly as long as the kids are hard workers. Overall the place is nice, it encourages renewable energy. The staff selects the strongest kids and puts them on large hamster wheels where they generate electricity. My kid loves it there, he loves telling all his friends about his black lung disease and super strong legs.
Like most parents, I would rather be home with my daughter everyday. However, she is well cared for and always has a smile on her face in the morning and when I pick her up. I am glad we picked Viking Childcare Center.
If your child isn't one of their favorites, he or she will be singled out and treated unfairly. I wouldn't recommend bringing your child here. They caused me so much stress and anxiety.
Don't bring your child here. Most of the staff are disrespectful to the children humiliating them. And if your an intern, try to avoid this place at all cost.
